Abstract

Career development will benefit organizations. Through career development programs, the company will increase employees’ performance and productivity and will increase promotion opportunities for employees. The research will be conducted at Ministro Cafe Medan. Career development is an activity to carry out career planning in order to improve personal future. Work performance is a result achieved through carrying out the tasks assigned to someone based on skills, experience, sincerity and time. The method used in this research is descriptive method and correlational method. The type of research used is quantitative research. Data analysis methods used in the research are descriptive statistic, coefficient of correlation, coefficient of determination, linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing using Z-test. The result of coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.354. It means that the 35,4% of employees’ performance is influenced by career development and the remaining 64,6% is influenced by other variables outside this research. The result of hypothesis Z-test indicates that zcount value obtained is 3.20 that will be compared with ztable in amount og 1.96. zcount (3.20) is higher than the value of ztable (1.96). Thus, hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted that career development has significant influence employees’ performance at Ministro Cafe Medan. Ministro Cafe Medan should pay attention to the influence of career development such as give employees the opportunity to give an opinion, improve their career, always gives praise, etc. This extra career development can have a significant influence on employees’ performance./ Pengembangan karir akan menguntungkan organisasi. Melalui program pengembangan karir, perusahaan akan meningkatkan kinerja dan produktivitas karyawan dan akan meningkatkan peluang promosi bagi karyawan. Penelitian akan dilakukan di Ministro Cafe Medan. Pengembangan karir adalah kegiatan untuk melaksanakan perencanaan karir dalam rangka meningkatkan masa depan. Prestasi kerja adalah hasil yang dicapai seseorang dalam menjalankan tugas yang diberikan kepadanya berdasarkan keterampilan, pengalaman, ketulusan, dan waktu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan metode korelasional. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif, koefisien korelasi, koefisien determinasi, analisis regresi linier dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Z. Hasil koefisien determinasi (R2) adalah 0,354. Ini berarti bahwa 35,4% kinerja karyawan dipengaruhi oleh pengembangan karir dan sisanya 64,6% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian ini. Hasil hipotesis Z-test menunjukkan bahwa nilai zcount yang diperoleh adalah 3,20 yang akan dibandingkan dengan ztable dalam jumlah og 1,96. zcount (3,20) lebih tinggi dari nilai ztable (1,96). Oleh karena itu, hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima bahwa pengembangan Karir memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi kerja karyawan di Ministro Cafe Medan. Ministro Cafe Medan harus memperhatikan pengaruh pengembangan karier seperti memberikan kesempatan kepada karyawan untuk memberikan pendapat, meningkatkan karier mereka, selalu memberikan pujian, dll. Pengembangan karir ini memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan.
