Abstract

The one effective way in order to maximize wealth is by doing investment. However, it could only be counted as successful when it gives the outcome that is correspondent to what the individual is expecting. As a result, there will be variety of investment decisions of every individual in this world. An individual is firstly categorized as male or female when born. Throughout their growing process, he or she is taught in accordance to his or her surroundings. In other words, not a single individual will ever be completely the same with one another when they grow up, resulting in different decisions for every individual. To add, paying attention to his or her marital status, being single and married change one’s decision. Being male or female, with different marital status constructs many different investment decisions. The objective of this research is to figure out whether if different gender, different marital status, and both combined, will actually create different investment decision. 100 respondents’ answers are taken to be the representative of the population, citizen of Medan. Before Two-way ANOVA Test is utilized to test the Hypothesis Test, validity test and reliability test are examined to ensure that the collected data are valid and reliable. / Satu cara efektif untuk memaksimalkan kekayaan adalah dengan melakukan investasi. Tetapi, investasti yang terhitung sukses adalah ketika investasi memberikan hasil yang sesuai dengan apa yang individu harapkan. Sebagai hasilnya, adanya keberagaman atas keputusan investasi setiap individu di dunia ini. Seorang individu pertama-tama dikategorikan sebagai pria atau wanita ketika lahir. Semasa proses perkembangannya, pria atau wanita dididik sesuai dengan lingkungannya. Dengan kata lain, tidak ada satupun individu yang akan dengan sepenuhnya sama ketika mereka besar, menghasilkan perbedaan keputusan untuk setiap individu. Ditambah lagi, memperhatikan status perkawinan pria atau wanita, lajang atau sudah menikah merubah keputusan seseorang. Sebagai pria atau wanita, dengan status perkawinan yang berbeda menciptakan keputusan investasi yang berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari tahu apakah perbedaan dalam jenis kelamin, perbedaan status perkawinan, dan kedua factor digabung, akan menghasilkan keputusan investasi yang berbeda. Jawaban 100 responden digunakan untuk menjadi representatif populasi, penduduk kota Medan. Sebelum uji Two-way ANOVA dites untuk Uji Hipotesa, uji validitas dan realibitas diuji untuk memastikan data yang terkumpul adalah valid dan dapat dipercaya.
