Abstract

JW MARRIOTT JAKARTA is a 5 star hotel which is located in the Golden Business Triangle of Mega Kuningan near multinational corporations, embassies and shopping center. Front office department is one of the important departments in a hotel which the performance of the employees is the key of success to the hotel. The hotel hires interns and the interns work the same as the employees. There is no differentiation between the interns and the employees. The writer wants to do this research because the writer has ever done internship at this hotel and felt that intern students are really helpful to the hotel operation. They work together with the employees, especially in the Front Office department. This final project aims to know the effect of internship performance towards Front Office Department performance at JW MARRIOTT JAKARTA. The respondents of the research are 60 employees who work at JW MARRIOTT JAKARTA from January 2019- January 2020. This research is using quantitative method to analayze the data. The result shows that internship performance has relationship and effect toward Front Office department performance at JW MARRIOTT JAKARTA/ JW MARRIOTT JAKARTA adalah hotel bintang lima yang terletak di Mega Kuningan dekat dengan perusahaan multinasional, kedutaan besar dan pusat perbelanjaan. Departemen kantor depan adalah salah satu dari departemen penting dalam suatu hotel dimana kinerja para karyawan adalah kunci utama dari kesuksesan hotel tersebut. Hotel mempekerjakan anak magang dan anak magang bekerja sama seperti karyawan. Tidak ada perbedaan antara anak magang dan karyawan. Penulis ingin membuat penelitian ini karena penulis pernah melakukan magang di hotel ini dan merasa bahwa anak magang sangat membantu dalam operasional hotel bersama dengan para karyawan terutama di departemen kantor depan. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kinerja magang terhadap kinerja di departemen kantor depan di JW MARRIOTT JAKARTA. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 66 karyawan yang bekerja di JW MARRIOTT dalam jangka waktu dari Januari 2019-Januari 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dalam menganalsis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh dan hubungan antara kinerja kerja anak magang terhadap kenerja di departemen kantor depan.
