Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Inquiry 5E terhadap penguasaan konsep dan competence peserta didik dalam memahami materi pada mata pelajaran Kimia kelas SMA Santo Carolus Surabaya tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian quasi experimental tipe nonequivalent control group design. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X sebanyak 77 peserta didik. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 39 peserta didik dan kontrol sebanyak 38 peserta didik. Perlakuan dilakukan pada kelompok eksperimen menggunakan model Inquiry 5E. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Model Inquiry 5E berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep. Ini dapat diketahui dari uji independent sample t test dengan t hitung adalah t (75) = 3,681, sedangkan t tabel = 1,992. Karena nilai t hitung 3,681 > t tabel 1,992. Model Inquiry 5E memiliki perbedaan dengan model konvesional. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari perhitungan N-Gain bahwa model Inquiry 5E memiliki nilai N-Gain Score sebesar 0,60 atau 60%, artinya sedang dan cukup efektif. Sedangkan N-Gain Score model konvesional sebesar 0,40 atau 40%, artinya sedang dan tidak efektif. 2) Untuk Competence peserta didik pada model Inquiry 5E mengalami peningkatan pada hasil pembelajaran dari pada menggunakan model konvesional. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari nilai rata-rata di kelas eksperimen atau Inquiry sebesar 87,7 sedangkan kelas kontrol atau konvesional sebesar 77,3. / This study aims to determine the effect of Inquiry 5E learning model on the mastery of concepts and competence of students in understanding the material in Chemistry subjects in Tarakanita High School Surabaya class. This study uses a quasi experimental type of nonequivalent control group design. The population used in the study were all students of class X Sint. Carolus Senior High School Surabaya as many as 77 students. The sample of this study consisted of two groups: an experimental group of 39 students and a control group of 38 students. The treatment was carried out in the experimental group using the Inquiry 5E model. The results showed that 1) Model Inquiry 5E influenced the mastery of concepts. This can be seen from the independent sample t test with t count is t (75) = 3.681, while t table = 1.992. Because the value of t arithmetic 3.681> t table 1.992, This means that there is an influence on the application of the Inquiry 5E model to the mastery of concepts. Model Inquiry 5E has a difference with conventional models. This can be seen from the N-Gain calculation that the Inquiry 5E model has an N-Gain Score of 0.60 or 60%, meaning that it is moderate and quite effective. Whereas the conventional model N-Gain Score is 0.40 or 40%, meaning that it is moderate and not effective. 2) For Competence, students in the Inquiry 5E model have increased learning outcomes rather than using the conventional model. This can be seen from the average value in the experimental or Inquiry class at 87.7 while the control or conventional class at 77.3.
