Abstract

Saat ini perkembangan dunia media massakhususnyamajalah di Indonesia telah mencapai tahap perkembangan yang cukup pesat. Melihatperkembangantersebut, pihak asing mulai tertarik menanamkan modalnya di bidang pers, sebaliknya pengusaha dalam negeri berkesempatan mencari lahan media asing untuk dapat diterbitkan dengan gaya lokal.Perkembangan majalah waralaba yang cukup meningkat adalah majalah waralaba khusus wanita.Salah satunya adalah majalah waralaba dengan segmentasi mode dan gaya hidup. Kehadiran majalah wanita waralaba dengan segmentasi mode dan gaya hidup di Indonesia cukup menarik untuk dikaji sebagai bahan penelitian karena dengan banyaknya kompetitor-kompetitor yang berkecimpung dalam usaha yang samasehinggamenimbulkanpersaingan di antaramereka. Dalam penelitian inimetode yang digunakan adalah analisis isi dengan pendekatan kuantitatifdanmenggunakan tiga sampel yaitu majalah FEMALE INDONESIA, majalah EVE INDONESIA, dan majalah ELLE INDONESIA. Data dalam penelitian ini didapatkan dari pengumpulan artikel berita yang dimuat oleh majalah FEMALE INDONESIA, ELLE INDONESIA, dan EVE INDONESIAdari bulan Januari 2011 hingga April 2011 dan Januari 2012 hingga April 2012. Penghitunganniche breadthterlihat bahwa pada kwartal pertama tahun 2011 majalah FEMALE INDONESIA bersifat spesialis, sedangkan majalah EVE INDONESIA bersifat generalis dan majalah ELLE INDONESIA bersifat moderat.Namun padakwartal pertama tahun 2012terjadiperubahan di manamajalah FEMALE INDONESIA bersifat moderat, sedangkan majalah EVE INDONESIA bersifat generalis dan majalah ELLE INDONESIA bersifat spesialis.Penghitunganniche overlap yang dilakukan secara “head to head” antar majalah waralaba terlihat persaingan antar ketiga majalah sangatketat. Kondisi ini memperlihatkan penggunaan sumber penunjang kehidupan yang sama. / Nowadays, the development of mass mediaespecially magazine in Indonesia has reached a stage of development quite rapidly. See the development rapidly, foreigner investors got interested to invest in the press industry, while employers inside the country have the chance to find for the foreign media to be published in the local style. Development of a considerable improvement franchise magazine is franchise magazine for women. One of them is a franchise magazine with fashion and lifestyle segmentation. The presence of franchise women's magazine with fashion and lifestyle segmentation in Indonesia is quite interesting to study as research material because of the number of competitors engaged in similar efforts so that its giving rise a competition among them. In this research uses the content-analysis method with quantitative approachand use three samples. The samples are FEMALE INDONESIA magazine, EVE INDONESIA magazine, and ELLE INDONESIA magazine.Thedata from in this study obtainedfrom the collection of news articles published inFEMALE INDONESIA magazine, EVE INDONESIA magazine, and ELLE INDONESIA magazine from January 2011 to April 2011 and January 2012 to April 2012. The calculation of niche breadth show that on first kwartal 2011 FEMALE INDONESIA magazine is a specialist, EVE INDONESIA magazine is general and ELLE INDONESIA magazine is moderate. But on first kwartal 2012 the result is change whereFEMALE INDONESIA magazine is a moderate, EVE INDONESIA magazine is general and ELLE INDONESIA magazine isspecialist. The result of niche overlap calculation between the three franchises magazines is very tight. This condition indicates that they use the same source for live.
