Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menstabilisasi tanah ekspansif yang mempunyai nilai ekspansivitas tinggi dengan metode biogrouting, dan melihat kinerja bakteri lewat medium yang diberikan kedalam tanah sebagai perawatan berkala. Bakteri yang digunakan untuk biogrouting adalah bakteri Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, dan Bacillus megaterium yang ditumbuh kembangkan dalam medium kultur B4 dengan sumber kalsium limbah karbit. Medium kultur cair pada penelitian ini dipelihara pada sampel uji tanah sampai enam bulan dan tujuh bulan. Kekuatan tanah diuji dengan metode direct shear dengan melihat nilai kohesi dan sudut geser dalam tanah. Peningkatan nilai kohesi tanah sebanding dengan nilai sudut geser dalam tanah. Semakin tinggi nilai kohesi dan sudut geser dalam tanah maka semakin tinggi juga kekuatan tanah. Hasil pengujian pada masa pemeliharaan enam bulan menunjukkan peningkatan nilai kohesi tanah sebesar 330% untuk tanah yang disiram medium kultur cair bakteri Bacillus subtilis, 341,6% untuk tanah yang disiram medium kultur cair bakteri Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, dan 375% untuk tanah yang disiram medium kultur cair bakteri Bacillus megaterium. Selisih peningkatan nilai kohesi tanah antara masa pemeliharaan enam bulan dan tujuh bulan sebanyak 9,6% untuk tanah dengan bakteri Bacillus subtilis. 7,5% pada tanah dengan bakteri Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. 1,8% untuk tanah dengan bakteri Bacillus megaterium. Sehingga bakteri masih dapat bekerja dengan baik pada tanah yang tidak dirawat dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Nilai pengetesan Free Swell Index menurun 11,11% untuk tanah yang disiram medium kultur cair bakteri Bacillus subtilis, 16,67% untuk tanah yang disiram medium kultur cair bakteri Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, dan 22,22% untuk tanah yang disiram medium kultur cair bakteri Bacillus megaterium sehingga jika dilihat dari tabel degree of expansion tanah menurun dari tinggi ke sedang./This research aimed to stabilize expansive soil that has a high swelling character by biogrouting method and to see the bacterial performance through medium that will be given periodically inside the soil. The bacterials liquid that will be used are Bacillus subtilis bacteria, Bacillus qmyloliquefaciens bacteria and Bacillus megaterium bacteria and was grown in B4 culture medium with carbide waste as source of the calcium. Bacterial liquid culture was cured in soil samples for strength test in six month and seven month. The strength of the soil was tested by direct shear test to see the cohession value and ground shear angle value. The higher the cohession and ground shear value, the higher the strength of soil. The results for direct shear test showed an increase in soil cohesion value, which was 330% for soil with Bacillus subtilis bacteria liquid, 341,6% for soil with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and 375% for soil with Bacillus megaterium bacteria liquid. Increment increase in cohession value difference between the sample that has been cured for six month and seven month which was 9,6% for soil with Bacillus subtilis bacteria liquid. 7,5% for soil with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria liquid. 1,8% for soil with Bacillus megaterium bacteria liquid. From that differences, bacteria still can perform well even if the soil not treated for a long period of time. The free swell index value also decreased 11,11% for soil with Bacillus subtilis bacteria liquid, 16,67% for soil with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria liquid, and 22,22% for soil with Bacillus megaterium bacteria liquid and so the degree of expansion in soil also decreased from high to medium.
