Abstract

Perkembangan dunia ekonomi dan bisnis yang semakin berkembang saat ini membuat persaingan yang semakin ketat antara perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia, di mana setiap perusahaan harus menyusun strategi yang efektif untuk memenangkan persaingan tersebut. Bisnis yang bergerak di bidang percetakan pun terus meningkat di mana pada tahun 2011 meningkat dari 4,7% menjadi 5,3% di tahun 2012. PT. Indojaya Multitama merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang percetakan offset printing yang berlokasi di Jakarta. Mendapatkan new customers merupakan fokus utama dari PT. Indojaya Multitama untuk meningkatkan penjualan. Dalam kegiatan pemasarannya, PT. Indojaya Multitama menggunakan konsep personal selling untuk mendapatkan new customers. PT. Indojaya Multitama mempelajari apa yang menjadi kebutuhan dari customers sebelum melakukan personal selling agar dapat berhasil melakukan persuasi. Selama pelaksanaan magang, Penulis terlibat langsung dalam mencari dan melakukan follow up kepada customers PT. Indojaya Multitama sebagai Junior Sales Marketing. Penulis dapat menyimpulkan, penggunaan personal selling yang diterapkan oleh PT. Indojaya Multitama mempengaruhi penjualan dan jumlah new customers. Hal tersebut dikarenakan dalam kegiatan personal selling terjadi persuasi di mana kebutuhan customers dapat terpenuhi dan terjalinnya hubungan baik antara customers dan PT. Indojaya Multitama yang dapat menghasilkan pemesanan ulang. Saran yang dapat diberikan oleh Penulis antara lain, melakukan training yang lebih intensif kepada salesperson agar dapat lebih memahami mengenai jasa yang ditawarkannya dan menggunakan IMC Mix yang lainnya untuk mendukung aktifitas personal selling. / Indonesian Economics and business growth are genuinely drive the competition among many companies. Many companies from all industries compete each other in creating the most effective strategy to win the competition. Included in printing industries, there a lot of printing companies. Nowadays, by the year 2012 amount of printing companies increase from 4,7% to 5,3% in Indonesia. PT. Indojaya Multitama is one of the printing companies in Indonesia, that located in Jakarta. Get new customer is the main focus of PT. Indojaya Multitama to increase sales. They create many strategies to get the most effective way in getting new customer, and one the most tools is Personal Selling. PT. Indojaya Multitama try to find needs of the customer before doing personal selling, and to get customer persuaded by them is the purpose of this activities. In this thesis, the writer would report the personal selling activities such as find a new prospect customer, follow them up, that the writer directly involved during the internship as Junior Sales Marketing in PT. Indojaya Multitama. The writer concluded that, using personal selling as one of the IMC mix activities, increased sales and amount of new customer of PT. Indojaya Multitama. Those things were affected by the personal selling activities that consist of persuasion, fulfillment of customers’ needs and satisfaction, also the maintained relationship between customers and PT. Indojaya Multitama. In this thesis writer also suggest PT. Indojaya Multitama to give training about knowledge of products and services, how to get and persuade new customers. to their salespersons.
