Abstract

Latar Belakang: Jumlah populasi lansia di Indonesia semakin banyak. Menurut Kemenkes RI 2013, penyakit yang sering diderita oleh lansia adalah penyakit degeneratif dan salah satu penyakit kronik degeneratif yang banyak diderita oleh lansia adalah Alzheimer. Indonesia diperkirakan akan menjadi negara keempat dengan penderita demensia terbanyak dari 18 negara di Asia Pasifik. Aktivitas fisik diduga dapat memberikan stimulasi terhadap pertumbuhan saraf yang kemungkinan dapat menghambat penurunan fungsi kognitif pada lansia. Namun, banyak sekali lansia yang tidak aktif secara fisik. Oleh sebab itu, mengubah gaya hidup menjadi lebih aktif sangat penting untuk mencegah penurunan fungsi kognitif yang dapat menyebabkan demensia pada lansia. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan tingkat aktivitas fisik terhadap fungsi kognitif pada lansia di Serpong dan Karawaci. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode potong lintang (cross sectional). Responden sebanyak 79 orang, yang merupakan lansia > 60 tahun dan dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dari Januari 2020 – Maret 2020 di Gereja St. Monika dan Puskesmas Binong. Hasil penelitian diolah dengan program SPSS 23.0 menggunakan metode Chi-square dan regresi logistik multivariat. Hasil Penelitian: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat aktivitas fisik dengan fungsi kognitif (P value: 0,184; Odds Ratio: 1,853), namun ada faktor lain yang memiliki pengaruh paling dominan terhadap fungsi kognitif, yaitu tingkat pendidikan (Odds Ratio: 3,944) Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara tingkat aktivitas fisik dengan fungsi kognitif dan faktor yang memiliki pengaruh paling dominan terhadap fungsi kognitif adalah tingkat pendidikan. / Background: The number of elderly population in Indonesia is increasing. According to the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia 2013, the disease often suffered by the elderly is a degenerative disease and one of the chronic degenerative diseases that many suffer by the elderly is Alzheimer's. Indonesia is expected to be the fourth country with the most dementia sufferers from 18 countries in Asia Pacific. Physical activity is thought to be able to provide stimulation to nerve growth which may be able to inhibit cognitive decline in the elderly. However, many elderly are not physically active. Therefore, changing the lifestyle to be more active is very important to prevent cognitive decline that can cause dementia in the elderly. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of physical activity and cognitive function in the elderly in Serpong and Karawaci. Method: This study uses a cross sectional method. Respondents were 79 people, aged> 60 years and selected using convenience sampling techniques. Data is collected from January 2020 - March 2020 in the Church of St. Monika and Puskesmas Binong. The results of the study were processed with the SPSS 23.0 program using the Chi-square method and multivariate logistic regression. Result: There is no significant relationship between the level of physical activity and cognitive function (P value: 0.184; Odds Ratio: 1.853), but there are other factors that have the most dominant influence on cognitive function, namely education level (Odds Ratio: 3.944) Conclusion: There is no relationship between the level of physical activity with cognitive function and the factor that has the most dominant influence on cognitive function is the level of education.
