Abstract

Entrepreneurship contributes to the economic growth of a nation. In order to achieve a significant growth, the participation of each individual is crucial. Everyone can contribute to it based on their capacity and roles. This aspect also implies to Business school of Universitas Pelita Harapan Medan. As an educational institution, UPH Medan has the moral obligation to encourage students, as our future generation, to become entrepreneurs. Aside from learning inside the classroom, the author would like to know whether the extracurricular activities like various seminars which held by the university will influence the interests of business school students to become entrepreneurs. This research implemented descriptive analysis method with the data that is obtained from questionnaires. In this study, 69 undergraduate business school students class of 2015 and 2016 were randomly picked. This research applies linear regression analysis. The result analysis shows that leadership and entrepreneurship seminars have a positive effect on the students interest to become an entrepreneur with the result hypothesis is Haaccepted. The result obtained from this research is one of the ways to encourage business school students of UPH Medan interests to become entrepreneurs is through leadership and entrepreneurship seminars.
