Abstract

Twitter sekarang ini sedang populer di kalangan masyarakat dunia terutama Indonesia. Sebuah pesan yang terkandung di dalam sebuah tweet yang ditulis oleh setiap individu mampu menggambarkan sebuah pola hubungan dan cara penggunaan pada twitter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pola hubungan dengan menggunakan teori penetrasi sosial, apakah sebuah hubungan dapat mencapai tahap impersonal atau interpersonal, serta penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat cara penggunaan microblogging twitter. Peneliti menggunakan metode fenomenologi untuk melihat setiap fenomena yang terjadi di twitter. Hasil penelitian dapat dinyatakan bahwa pola hubungan yang terjadi antar setiap pengguna twitter sudah mencapai tahap komunikasi interpersonal. Dalam cara menyindir di twitter pada konteks impersonal setiap responden tidak mencantumkan nama, sedangkan untuk konteks interpersonal responden mencantumkan nama. Selanjutnya pada cara penggunaan emoticon, setiap responden mempunyai cara yang sama, begitu juga dengan cara penggunaan simbol (*…*) setiap responden mempunyai cara yang sama pula. / Twitter is currently popular among people around the world especially in Indonesia. A message that is contained in a tweet, written by each individual is able to describe a relationship and how to use the twitter. The study aims to look at patterns of relationships by using Social Penetration Theory, whether a relationship can reach the stage of an impersonal or interpersonal, and this study aims to see the usage of twitter. Researcher used a phenomenological method to see every phenomena that occurs on twitter. The results can be stated that the pattern of relationships that occur between each twitter user has reached the stage of interpersonal communication. In a satirical form of twitter in the impersonal context of each respondent does not include the name, while for the interpersonal context of the respondents anonymous. Later in the form of the use of emoticons, each respondent has the same way, as well as shape the use of symbols (* ... *) each respondent has the same way.
