Abstract

Trauma that occurs in two or more body regions could be classified as polytrauma. Trauma cases are evaluated with trauma scoring systems based on anatomical and physiological examinations. Trauma scoring systems are used in clinical settings to assess trauma severity, to classify patients, to decide initial treatments and managements, and to predict mortality for affected patients. According to these informations, we would like to reevaluate the correlation between trauma scoring systems and survival rate especially for Revised Trauma Score (RTS) and Injury Severity Score (ISS), also to establish the predictive value of trauma scoring systems in predicting mortality and Length of Stay for polytrauma cases in Siloam Public Hospital, Tangerang in this study. Purpose: To establish the correlation between trauma scoring systems, survival rate, and Length of Stay for polytrauma cases in Siloam Public Hospital, Tangerang. Methods: This study will be done using cross-sectional method. Minimum requirement of the samples is about 30 cases of polytrauma in the Siloam Public Hospital which will be retrieved using purposive samplings for collecting data. Data collections will be held from January – April 2020. Collected data will be analyzed using SPSS 23.0 software and will be tested using Chi-square method. Results: There are meaningful relation between trauma scoring systems and survival rate (RTS p-value: 0,008 and ISS p-value: 0,015), but we only found meaningful relation for ISS and Length of Stay (p-value: 0,003) meanwhile RTS doesn’t show meaningful relation with Length of Stay (p-value: 0,227)
