Abstract

Since 2015, Department of Academic Administration in Universitas Pelita Harapan had to manage and produce Diploma Supplement (SKPI) reports for more than hundreds of graduating students from various collected specific data sources. To improve the process of generating these reports, Academic Administration requested a technical solution to Information Technology Directorate (ITD), which then becomes a project for internship in ITD. The technical solution is built to run on web-based platform and supports two database system models MariaDB and Oracle, using web programming language such as HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheet), JavaScript, and PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor). The application development is helped with developer tools such as PHPMaker 2017 and equipped with core PHP functional library TCPDF. The web application is tested with two types of testing. First is functional testing, conducted by the tester team in ITD to test four core functionalities branched into 72 operational functions’ tests. Second is analysis testing which uses the statistical approach of analysis of variance (ANOVA), performed by six testers with a given task to produce SKPI. From functional testing, a conclusion is received that all core functions in the web application run well and as expected. The result of analysis testing which uses ANOVA method proves that there is a significant difference between generating SKPI with the help of web application and generating SKPI without the help of web application.
