Abstract

Peace Journalism adalah ketika editor dan wartawan membuat pilihan dari cerita-cerita yang akan dilaporkan dan tentang bagaimana melaporkannya. Dari pelaporan yang wartawan buat menciptakan peluang bagi masyarakat luas untuk mempertimbangkan dan menghargai tanggapan yang bersifat non-kekerasan terhadap konflik terkait. Dalam penelitian ini, Penulis memfokuskan pada bagaimana media online Al Jazeera membingkai berita, opini dan features mengenai peringatan 10 tahun tragedi 9/11. Penulis memperoleh dan menganalisis sembilan artikel berita, opini, dan features dari tanggal 5 September 2011- 22 September 2011. Penulis menggunakan analisis framing Robert Entman sebagai teknik untuk melihat apakah berita, opini, dan features tersebut menerapkan konsep Peace Journalism atau War Journalism. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode analisis isi kualitatif. Dapat dikatakan penelitian kualitatif ini diperoleh melalui data primer, yaitu sumber data yang memuat elemen-elemen yang memungkinkan untuk dianalisis berdasarkan konsep Peace Journalism dan analisis framing Robert Entman. Dari kesembilan artikel yang dianalisis, Penulis memperoleh hasil bahwa berita, opini, dan features pada media online Al Jazeera yang terkait peringatan 10 tahun tragedi 9/11 memberi kecenderungan mempraktekan konsep Peace Journalism. / Peace Journalism is when editors and reporters make choices of stories that will be reported and how to report it. From the reporting that a journalist makes, it creates opportunities for the public to consider and appreciate the non violence response towards the conflict. In this research, Writer focus on how the online media framed the Al Jazeera news, opinions, and features about the 10th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11. Writer obtained and analyzed the nine news articles, opinions, and features that are taken from 5 September 2011-22 September 2011. The Writer uses the framing analysis of Robert Entman as a technique to see whether the news, opinions, and features apply the concept of Peace Journalism or War Journalism. The research method used in this study is a qualitative content analysis method. Can be said that the qualitative research obtained through primary data; the data sources that contain elements that allow for analysis based on the concept of Peace Journalism and framing analysis of Robert Entman. From the nine articles that were analyzed, the Writer obtained the result that news, opinions and features on Al Jazeera online media related 10th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11 gives a tendency to practice the concept of Peace Journalism.
