Abstract

Kopi merupakan salah satu minuman yang paling popular dan digemari di dunia, termasuk di Indonesia. Menurut International Coffee Organization, konsumsi kopi Indonesia periode 2016/2017 mencapai 4,6 juta kemasan 60 kg dan hal ini membuat Indonesia menjadi negara urutan ke-6 yang mengonsumsi kopi terbanyak di dunia. Kopi seringkali dikaitkan dengan peningkatan risiko penyakit kardiovaskuler. Salah satu mekanisme yang diyakini memicu penyakit ini adalah hubungan konsumsi kopi dengan peningkatan tekanan darah. Beberapa studi terdahulu menunjukkan hasil yang tidak konsisten mengenai hubungan antara konsumsi kopi dan tekanan darah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari hubungan konsumsi kopi dengan tekanan darah pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara konsumsi kopi dengan tekanan darah pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan dengan desain studi potong lintang. Sampel akan didapatkan dari hasil kuesioner konsumsi kopi yang dibagikan kepada 230 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran UPH. Subjek yang cocok dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi penelitian ini akan dijadikan sampel kemudian diolah dengan analisis Mann-U-Whitney menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 23.0. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari 230 subjek dengan 114 diantaranya memiliki kebiasaan mengonsumsi kopi (49,6%) dan 116 subjek tidak memiliki kebiasaan mengonsumsi kopi (50,4%). Rerata sistol kelompok yang mengonsumsi kopi dan kelompok yang tidak mengonsumsi kopi berturut-turut adalah 111,351±11,9839 mmHg dan 108,047±9,3516 mmHg (p=0,026). Sedangkan rerata diastol kelompok yang mengonsumsi dan yang tidak mengonsumsi kopi berturut-turut adalah 75,47±8,826 mmHg dan 72,35±7,00 mmHg (p=0,002). Sebagai kesimpulan, ditemukan bahwa konsumsi kopi secara signifikan berhubungan dengan tekanan darah./ Coffee is one of the most popular and likeable drinks in the world, including Indonesia. According to International Coffee Organization, coffee consumption in Indonesia by the year of 2016/2017 reaches 4,6 million of 60kg packages of coffee which makes Indonesia ranked sixth on world’s largest coffee consumption. Coffee is often associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. One of the mechanisms that is believed to trigger the disease is the relationship between coffee consumption and increased blood pressure. Previous studies have shown inconsistent results regarding the relationship between coffee consumption and blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of coffee consumption with blood pressure in medical students at Pelita Harapan University. Hypothesis of this research is there is a relation between coffee consumption and blood pressure in medical students at Pelita Harapan University. This research will be conducted with a cross-sectional study design. Samples will be obtained from the results of questionnaire distributed to 230 UPH medical students regarding coffee consumption. Subjects who match the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study will be used as sample and then processed with T-Test or Mann-U-Whitney analysis using IBM SPSS version 23.0. Participants of this research consist of 230 subjects and 114 of them have the habit of consuming coffee (49,6%), while 116 of them do not have the habit of consuming coffee (50,4%). The average systole of the group that had consumed coffee and the group who did not consume coffee are 111,351±11,9839 mmHg and 108,047±9,3516 mmHg respectively (p=0,026). While the average diastole of the group that had consumed coffee and the group who did not consume coffee are 75,47±8,826 mmHg dan 72,35±7,00 mmHg respectively (p=0,002). As a conclusion, it was found that coffee consumption significantly related with blood pressure.
