Abstract

Latar belakang : Kelainan refraksi merupakan salah satu penyebab kebutaan dan gangguan penglihatan dengan prevalensi 22,1% dari total populasi di Indonesia. Penurunan fungsi penglihatan di DKI Jakarta sebanyak 3,5% dengan penyebab utamanya adalah katarak dan kelainan refraksi. Terdapat 58,6% dari total populasi mahasiswa kedokteran di Universitas Qassim, Saudi Arabia yang menderita kelainan refraksi. Kelainan refraksi yang diderita oleh mahasiswa ini tentunya akan mempengaruhi tingkat kualitas hidup pada mahasiswa itu sendiri. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan dan mengetahui perbedaan kualiatas hidup pada mahasiswa kedokteran dengan dan tanpa kelainan refraksi Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang. Total responden berjumlah 171 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2017. Teknik penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling. Pengambilan data akan dilakukan dengan cara pengisian kuesioner NEI-VFQ 25 oleh responden. Penelitian ini melibatkan 171 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Analisa statistik menggunakan SPSS 23. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah chi square. Hasil : Dari 171 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, sebanyak 24.,6% responden adalah emetropia, 75,4% responden termasuk ametropia, 15,8% responden memiliki kualitas hidup buruk dan 84,2% responden memiliki kualitas hidup baik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbandingan yang signifikan antara kualitas hidup mahasiswa dengan dan tanpa kelainan refraksi (p value=0.006; OR = 10.350; 95% CI 1.359-78.788)./ Backround : Refractive error is one of the causes of blindness and visual impairment with prevalence 22.1% of the total population in Indonesia. Low vision in DKI Jakarta is 3.5% with the main causes are cataracts and refractive errors. There are 58,6% from total population of medical student in Qassim University, Saudi Arabia who suffers refractive error. Refractive error that experience by college students will certainly affect to their quality of life. Purpose : This research compares and studies the differences that exist in medical students with and without refractive abnormalities. Method : This study uses a cross sectional study design. The total number of respondents are 171 students of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Pelita Harapan in 2017. The study used a purposive technique. Data collection will be done by filling out the NEI-VFQ 25 questionnaire by the respondent. This research will involve 171 students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Pelita Harapan. Statistic analysis will use SPSS 23. Result : From 171 respondents that fulfill the inclusive criteria, 24.,6% respondents are emetropi, 75,4% respondents are ametropia, 15,8% respondents have a bad quality of life and 84,2% respondents have a good quality of life. Analysis result shows there is significant difference between quality of life with and without refractive error (p value=0.006; OR = 10.350; 95% CI 1.359- 78.788).
