Abstract

Indonesia melakukan diplomasi budaya terhadap Thailand untuk mendorong penguatan relasi antara Indonesia dan Thailand, secara khusus melalui festival wonderful Indonesia. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan implementasi diplomasi budaya Indonesia melalui kegiatan yang memiliki unsur budaya, komunikasi, dan keterlibatan aktor – aktor dalam kegiatan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini akan dijelaskan menggunakan diplomasi budaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini tentunya akan melihat bagaimana Indonesia melakukan diplomasi budaya melalui wonderful Indonesia dalam mendorong penguatan relasi antara Indonesia dan Thailand. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Indonesia dan Thailand yang sudah menjalani hubungan diplomatik selama 70 tahun menuai banyak kerja sama baik dalam hubungan politik, perdagangan, pertahanan, pariwisata, sosial budaya dan pendidikan. Penggunaan diplomasi budaya Indonesia terhadap Thailand melalui festival wonderful Indonesia di Thailand menampilkan destinasi pariwisata seperti Kawah Ijen, Danau Toba, dan Jawa Barat. Pengaruh yang dihasilkan bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan kebudayaan Indonesia dan mempertahankan hubungan dengan masyarakat Thailand guna mewujudkan citra pariwisata Indonesia yang positif. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan teori konstruktivisme serta di ikuti dengan teori diplomasi budaya, nation branding dan national interest, hubungan bilateral, dan kebijakan luar negeri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini menganalisa proyek dan strategi Indonesia yaitu wonderful Indonesia dalam menciptakan citra positif Indonesia terhadap Thailand. Data – data dikumpulkan dari sumber seperti buku, jurnal, dan situs web yang bisa mendukung penelitian ini. / Indonesia conducts cultural diplomacy in Thailand to encouraged and strengthening the relationships between Indonesia and Thailand, specifically through the Wonderful Indonesia festival. This research describes the implementation of Indonesian cultural diplomacy through some activities such as elements of art and culture and also involving by some actors in these activities, also explained by cultural diplomacy. Result of this research conducts Indonesia and Thailand are pioneer countries in the establishment of ASEAN and have been established diplomatic relations for 70 years reap a lot of cooperation both in political relations, trade, defense, tourism, socio-culture, and education. The utilization of Indonesian cultural diplomacy against Thailand through the wonderful Indonesia festival shows some tourism destinations such as Ijen Crater, Toba Lake, West Java, and many more. These activities aim to disseminate Indonesian culture and foster relationships with the people of Thailand to realize a positive tourism image and reputation. In this research, the theory of Constructivism is used and followed by several concepts such as Cultural Diplomacy, Nation Branding, National Interest, Bilateral Relations, and Foreign Policy. The research used a qualitative research method and a case study method. The research brings analysis about Indonesia project and strategy named wonderful Indonesia to creates Indonesia's positive image especially in Thailand. Sources are collected from books, journals, and websites.
