Abstract

Latar Belakang Ponsel pintar sudah menjadi bagian hidup masyarakat. Secara tidak disadari pemakaian ponsel pintar secara tidak langsung dapat menimbulkan beberapa masalah, salah satunya adalah munculnya gangguan pada mata seperti mata kering. Tujuan Penelitian Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh lama durasi 15 menit dan 30 menit penggunaan ponsel pintar terhadap munculnya dan tingkat keparahan sindroma mata kering dikalangan mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran UPH. Metode Penelitian Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis komparatif numerik dan kategorik tidak berpasangan dengan studi eksperimental. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 56 subjek yang diambil dari mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran UPH dengan cara consecutive sampling. Pengambilan data akan dilakukan pada bulan Januari-agustus 2020 dengan menggunakan metode Schirmer test dan SPEED Questionnaire. Dengan data dianalisis uji Chi-square atau Uji Fisher menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil dan Pembahasan Dari 56 mahasiswa yang diteliti pada waktu 15 menit pemakaian ponsel pintar 3 orang (5,4%) mengalami sindroma mata kering dan 56 orang (100%) mengalami gejala mata kering ringan, sedangkan untuk 30 menit, 34 orang (60,7%) mengalami sindroma mata kering dan hanya 1 orang (1,8%) yang mengalami gejala mata kering sedang. Dengan p value <0.001 untuk munculnya sindroma mata kering dan 0.315 untuk tingkat keparahan sindroma mata kering. Kesimpulan Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh lama durasi 15 dan 30 menit pemakaian ponsel pintar terhadap munculnya sindroma mata kering dengan menggunakan Schirmer test, tetapi tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh lama durasi 15 dan 30 menit pemakaian ponsel pintar terhadap tingkat keparahan gejala sindroma mata kering yang diuji dengan SPEED Questionnaire. Kata Kunci : Ponsel Pintar, durasi pemakaian, gangguan mata, mata kering. / Background Smartphones have become a part of people's lives. Unconsciously, a long usages of smartphone can indirectly cause several problems, one of which is the emergence of eye disorders such as dry eyes. Aim The aim of this study is to determine the 15 and 30 minute duration of smartphone usage required for the emergence and severity of dry eye syndrome among UPH medical faculty students. Methods This study uses an unpaired numerical and categorical comparative analysis method with a cross-sectional study. The research sample consist of 56 subjects taken from UPH medical faculty students through consecutive sampling. Data collection will be carried out in January-August 2020. The results of this study will be processed by the Chi- square test analysis or Fisher's Test using the SPSS program. Results Of the 56 students studied within 15 minutes of using their smart phones, 3 (5.4%) experienced dry eye syndrome and 56 (100%) experienced mild dry eye symptoms, while for 30 minutes, 34 people (60.7%) experienced dry eye syndrome and only 1 person (1.8%) had moderate dry eye symptoms. With a p value <0.001 for the emergence of dry eye syndrome and 0.315 for the severity of dry eye syndrome. Conclusion There is effect of the duration 15 and 30 minutes of use of a smartphone on the emergence of dry eye syndrome using Schirmer test, but there is no effect of the duration of the minimum duration of use of a smartphone on the severity of dry eye syndrome symptoms tested by the SPEED questionnaire.
