Abstract

The rapid progress, especially in the geopolitical context, has made Indonesia better prepared in various fields, especially defense. The rapid growth by China and America's power in exerting influence in the international world, along with Russia's determination and efforts to strengthen its position in the international world order, has created instability in the sphere of statehood. Learning from the past where the Indonesian government had felt defeated after receiving an embargo from America, Indonesia in this case prepared itself through defense diplomacy which in the process specifically involved the involvement of the ministry of defense as the leading actor in strengthening the country's defense in the field of defense equipment or military hardware and personnel. As one way to achieve national interests, defense diplomacy is also used as part of Indonesia's strategy in minimizing the possibility of unfavorable relations and outcomes for the government and Indonesian society in the future. This is also done to support the values that Indonesia is pursuing to become a "Global Maritime Fulcrum" as the largest archipelago country in the world with millions of potentials that need to be preserved and developed/ Kemajuan pesat khusunya dalam konteks geopolitik telah membuat Indonesia lebih bersiap-siap dalam berbagai bidang, khususnya pertahanan.
