Abstract

Tanggal 22 Juni 1527 diperingati sebagai hari ulang tahun Kota Jakarta, meskipun tidak banyak yang mengetahui bahwa tanggal tersebut bukanlah waktu lahirnya Jakarta. Salah satu alasan ditetapkannya tanggal tersebut sebagai hari ulang tahun didasarkan atas peristiwa bersejarah yang terjadi pada tahun 1527 di Pelabuhan Sunda Kelapa, yaitu sebuah peristiwa peperangan akibat dari serangan gabungan antara Kerajaan Demak dan Kerajaan Cirebon. Beberapa ahli sejarah menyatakan ketidaksetujuan mereka terhadap keputusan penetapan hari ulang tahun Jakarta. Salah satu alasannya adalah ketidaktahuan pemerintah Jakarta mengenai sebuah tragedi yang dihasilkan oleh serangan besar tersebut kepada penduduk asli Sunda Kelapa. Sejarah pada hakikatnya adalah sebuah cerita dan arsitektur juga pada dasarnya tidak lepas dari cerita. Arsitektur naratif adalah sebuah cabang dari ilmu arsitektur yang memanfaatkan elemen cerita ke dalam perancangan bangunannya. Oleh karena itu, arsitektur naratif pun menjadi sebuah pendekatan desain untuk merancang sebuah tempat untuk mengedukasikan kebenaran dari sejarah tersebut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka muncullah beberapa pertanyaan penelitian. Kriteria arsitektur naratif apa yang bisa diterapkan ke dalam perancangan tempat edukasi sejarah? Cara apa yang dapat digunakan untuk menyampaikan sejarah Sunda Kelapa kepada sebuah tempat? Serta bagaimanakah sejarah Sunda Kelapa dapat dijelaskan melalui arsitektur naratif? Pada penelitian ini, ditemukanlah sebuah proses untuk menarasikan sebuah cerita sejarah kepada perancangan sebuah tempat edukasi. Pada tahap Structuring, peneliti pun mengelompokkan konten-konten sejarah menjadi beberapa ruang dengan menggunakan Biotopic Narrative. Dengan demikian didapatkanlah 7 macam ruang narasi dari tempat edukasi sejarah. Kemudian pada tahap Framing, peneliti menggunakan Sequence Narrative untuk mengurutkan sirkulasi para pengunjung dalam menelusuri ketujuh ruangan tersebut secara kronologis. Peneliti pun juga menerapkan salah satu atau lebih jenis-jenis arsitektur naratif yang digunakan sebagai cara untuk mengedukasikan konten sejarah secara spasial./ Jakarta celebrates its anniversary on June 22th, 1527. However, not many people know that this date wasn’t the day Jakarta was born. One of the argument for determining the anniversary date was based on a historical event that occurred in 1527 at Sunda Kelapa Harbor, which was an event of war due to a union attack by Demak Kingdom and Cirebon Kingdom. But, several historians declared their disagreement to that decision. One of their reasons is the nescience of Jakarta government regarding to the tragedy that occurred to the native people of Sunda Kelapa in which was created by the attacks. History is basically a story, as well as architecture which basically also inseparable from a story. Narrative architecture is a part of architectural science that uses story elements in their building’s design. Therefore, narrative architecture becomes a design approach to designing a place for educating history. Based on the statements above, a few questions emerged. What narrative arcitecture’s criteria(s) can be applied to the design of history educational place? What method(s) can be used to convey the history of Sunda Kelapa into a place? And how can the history of Sunda Kelapa be explained through narrative architecture? In this research, it was found that there is a process to narrating a historical story into the design of an educational place. On the Structuring phase, researcher organizied all the contents of the history into some spaces by using Biotopic Narrative. Therefore, there was found 7 narration rooms for the history educational place. Then on the Framing phase, researcher used Sequence Narrative to sort the circulation for the visitors to exploring all of those narration rooms chronologically. Researcher also applying one of or more narrative architecture(s) to be used for educating the contents of history in spatial.
