Abstract

Keluarga merupakan bagian terkecil dalam sistem sosial yang ada di masyarakat. Komunikasi dalam keluarga seiring berjalannya pernikahan ada kalanya tidak berjalan mulus, dan menyebabkan perceraian yang menimbulkan peran baru bagi orang tua yang biasa disebut dengan orang tua tunggal atau single parent. Apabila terjadi perceraian, sebagian besar hak asuh anak akan jatuh kepada ibu. Hal inilah yang menjadi dasar mengapa peneliti tertarik dalam membuat kajian yang berfokus kepada pola komunikasi ayah sebagai orang tua tunggal dalam menjaga intimacy dengan anak. Dalam penelitian ini akan membahas komunikasi antar pribadi (interpersonal communication), dan sebagai orang tua tunggal dalam mengasuh anak diperlukan kedekatan dan keintiman (intimacy) agar komunikasi dapat berjalan lancar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi naratif. Pengumpulan data penelitian berupa wawancara secara mendalam dengan subjek penelitian. Dari empat pola komunikasi dalam hubungan keluarga, apabila dihubungkan dengan kronologi cerita dari para informan, maka pola komunikasi ayah sebagai orang tua tunggal dalam menjaga intimacy dengan anak, dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Pola Komunikasi Perpecahan Yang Tidak Seimbang (The Unbalanced Split Pattern). Solusi yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan mendekatkan diri kepada Tuhan, bersikap terbuka dan saling percaya satu sama lain, melakukan dan menjaga komunikasi antara ayah dengan anak secara terus menerus seperti layaknya seorang teman, sehingga dapat terjalin komunikasi yang intim. / Family is the smallest part of the social system in the society. Communication in the family as the marriage progresses sometimes does not go smoothly, and causes a divorce which creates a new role for parents who are commonly named as single parents. In regards to divorce, most of the custody of the child goes to the mother. This is the reason why researchers are interested in making studies that focus on communication patterns of father as single parent in maintaining the intimacy with children. In this study, interpersonal communication will be discussed, and as a single parent in caring for children, closeness and intimacy are needed so that communication can run smoothly. This research uses a qualitative approach with a narrative study method, and collecting research data using in-depth interviews with the research subjects. Based on the four communication patterns in family relationships, when connected with the story and chronology of the informants, the communication patterns of father as single parent in maintaining the intimacy with children, in this study using the Unbalanced Split Pattern. The solution is to get closer to God, be open and trust to each other, carry out and maintain continuous communication between father and child like a friend, so that intimate communication can be established.
