Abstract

Medical tourism is currently being enjoyed by citizens worldwide, especially Indonesian citizens. These tours are trips by individuals to receive treatment in other countries. In choosing the destination countries, for Indonesians their favorite destination is Malaysia. It has a health system that has been recognized by international accreditation, particularly the JCI. By establishing the MHTC, the Malaysian government is promoting its country as the best medical tourism destination at an affordable price. The MHTC also offers cooperation with other countries in this tourism. This is one of the efforts by the Malaysian government to improve its economy. Moreover, the MHTC works with Indonesian companies in order to make it easier for Indonesian tourists to travel on medical tourism. The study is conducted to see the cooperation of Indonesia and Malaysia in the field, as well as what factors attract Indonesians to do tourism. In this research, the writer uses descriptive qualitative research with secondary types of data derived from books, journals, and previous research related to the research topic.
