Abstract

Budaya patriarki yang sudah mengakar pada nilai-nilai yang dipegang teguh oleh sebagian masyarakat Indonesia menjadikan perempuan sebagai mahluk yang termarjinalkan dalam beberapa bidang. Salah satu bidang yang sering kali memarjinalkan perempuan adalah industri film yang biasanya menampilkan perempuan sebagai objek keindahan yang dapat dinikmati oleh khlayak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana suatu wacana (film documenter) dapat merepresentasikan perempuan. Peran perempuan yang selama ini terbatas hanya mengerjakan pekerjaan yang ada sector informal saja seperti yang ditampilkan dalam film documenter “Paras Cantik Indonesia” episode 1. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dan peneliti menggunakan teknik analisis wacara Sara Mills. Peneliti memilih metode ini dikarenakan dalam film dokumenter ini sangat banyak mengandung unsur-unsur feminisme. . Hasil penelitiannya adalah posisi subjek ditempati oleh tokoh utama (Nurlina) sebagai subjek yang dominan dan menceritakan tokoh lain. Posisi objek adalah pihak-pihak yang diceritakan oleh subjek : bapak dan ibu Nurlina, Perempuan di Pulau Sabangko, dan Bapak-bapak dinas yang posisinya termarjinalkan karena tidak mendapatkan kesempatan untuk menceritakan dirinya. Posisi penonton diajak untuk merasakan emosi yang dirasakan oleh Nurlina. Hal ini juga menunjukkan adanya ketidaksetaraan yang pada tokoh utama yang diperankan oleh Nurlina dalam mendapatkan hak-haknya sebagai perempuan sejalan dengan apa yang diperjuangkan oleh teori feminisme liberal (Naomi Wolf)."/" The patriarchal culture that has been believed by some Indonesians for a long time has made women marginalized. One area that often marginalizes women is the film industry, which usually presents women as objects of beauty. This study aims to determine how discourse (documentary film) can represent women. The role of women, who have been limited to doing jobs in the informal sector, as shown in the documentary film "Paras Cantik Indonesia" episode 1. This research is a qualitative research and the researcher uses Sara Mills' method analysis technique. The researcher choose this method because the documentary film contains very many elements of feminism. The result is that the subject position is occupied by the main character (Nurlina) as the dominant subject and tells the other characters. The position of the object is the parties that are told by the subject: Nurlina's parents, the woman on Sabangko Island, and the government star whose position is marginalized. The position of the audience is invited to feel the emotions felt by Nurlina. This also shows the inequality of the main character played by Nurlina in getting her rights as a woman in line with what liberal feminism theory stands for (Naomi Wolf).
