Abstract

Remaja merupakan tahap terpenting dalam diri seseorang sebab pada tahap ini seseorang akan membentuk identitasnya dilihat dari fungsi kognitif seseorang yang sudah mulai berkembang sehingga pemikiran-pemikiran abstrak mulai terbentuk. Pada zaman yang ramai media saat ini, media merupakan peluang yang besar bagi remaja untuk melakukan eksplorasi terhadap identitas mereka. Hal ini membuat remaja menjadi sangat rentan terhadap pengaruh luar terutama melalui pesan media yang beragam. Peran orang tua dalam kehidupan remaja sangatlah penting. Tapi tidak semua orang tua paham media. Untuk itulah penelitian ini dibentuk untuk mengetahui pembentukan identitas remaja dalam keluarga yang tidak melek media. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian fenomenologi. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data primer, yaitu wawancara dan observasi, serta data sekunder yang berasal dari penelitian terdahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya didik orang tua yang tidak konsisten memberikan peluang bagi pengaruh luar untuk membentuk identitas remaja sehingga remaja memiliki banyak interpretasi mengenai lingkungan sosial akibat pesan dalam media digital. / Adolescence is the most important stage in a person because at this stage a person will form his/her identity which is seen from one’s cognitive function who has just begun to develop which leads in the form of abstract thoughts. In today's media era, it is a great opportunity for teenagers to explore their curiosity. This makes teenagers very vulnerable to outside influences, especially through various media messages. The role of parents in an adolescent life is very important, but not all parents are media savvy. For this reason, this study was formed to determine the identity formation of adolescents in non-media literate families. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological research methods. The data collected consisted of primary data, namely interviews and observations, as well as secondary data from previous research. The results showed that the inconsistent style of parenting provides opportunities for outside influences to shape the identity of adolescents so that adolescents have many interpretations of the social environment due to messages in digital media.
