Abstract

Dalam budaya Indonesia homoseksualitas masih dipandang sebagai hubungan abnormal, perlu dihindari, dan dipandang sebagai suati penyakit mental yang dapat disembuhkan. Sementara itu pada tahun 2003 dirilis Film Arisan! yang mengangkat tema homoseksualitas. Delapan tahun kemudian, pada tahun 2011 dirilis sekuel film tersebut, Arisan! 2, dengan tema yang sama. Gambaran terhadap kaum homoseksual dalam film akan membentuk makna dalam benak penontonnya. Makna tersebut akan membentuk pola interaksi antara kaum homoseksual dan heteroseksual di Indonesia. Lebih dalam lagi, interaksi tersebut akan membentuk konstruksi sosial dalam masyarakat Indonesia. Penelitian ini berusaha mendapatkan gambaran dan makna mengenai homoseksual yang terdapat pada kedua film yang dijadikan bahan analisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dengan menggunakan analisis semiotik dari Charles Sanders Peirce. Didapati beberapa temuan penelitian yang menarik bahwa homoseksualitas digambarkan sebagai salah satu bentuk orientasi seksual yang dipandang normal dalam kebudayaan Indonesia / Homosexuality is viewed as abnormal, to be avoided, and mental illness in Indonesian culture. A movie titled Arisan! was released in 2003 rising homosexuality as a theme. Eight years later in 2011, the sequel with the same theme was released, titled Arisan! 2. The signification about homosexuality will create meaning that is different from Indonesian culture in viewers’ mind. That meaning will later create a pattern of interaction between the homosexuals and heterosexuals in Indonesia. Moreover, those interactions will lead to social construction in Indonesia’s society. This research tries to find the signification and meaning about homosexuality that viewed in both movies that used as material analysis. This research is using content analysis method, using the semiotic theory from Charles Sanders Peirce. This research found some interesting findings about the signification of homosexuality from the movie. Homosexuality was viewed as one of the sexual orientations that is viewed as normal in Indonesian culture.
