Abstract

Perkembangan ekonomi di banyak negara yang semakin meningkat di era globalisasi membuat negara-negara saling bekerja sama. Pembentukan Free Trade Agreement dilakukan karena pentingnya untuk memperluas kerja sama perekonomian dan perdagangan. Indonesia dan Australia juga melihat peluang untuk menjalin kerja sama komprehensif di bidang ekonomi. Negosiasi telah dilaksanakan oleh kedua negara dan menghasilkan perjanjian. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk memahami lebih dalam proses negosiasi yang berlangsung. Serta melihat kejadian yang menarik selama proses negosiasi dan strategi yang diambil untuk mengatasi tantangan dan hambatan. Teori neoliberalisme menjadi landasan teoretis untuk mengkaji negosiasi yang dilakukan kedua negara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode sejarah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka dan penelusuran daring Dari hasil penelitian Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership telah melalui 12 tahapan perundingan dan memakan waktu selama 10 tahun. Dalam setiap proses perundingan tentunya menghadapi tantangan dan hambatan. Selain itu, adanya dinamika politik yang terjadi di tengah proses perundingan membuat proses perundingan semakin menarik. Akan tetapi, pada akhirnya kedua negara berhasil melewati berbagai tantangan dan hambatan serta menemukan titik keseimbangan untuk kedua belah pihak dalam perjanjian ini. Sehingga Indonesia- Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership bisa ditandatangani pada bulan Maret 2019./Economic development in many countries that are increasing in the era of globalization makes countries cooperate with each other. The establishment of Free Trade Agreement was carried out because the importance of expanding economic and trade cooperation. Indonesia and Australia see the opportunities to establish comprehensive economic cooperation. Negotiations have been conducted by both countries and resulted in an agreement. This research is intended to understand more in the ongoing negotiation process. As well as seeing interesting events during the negotiation process and the strategy taken to overcome challenges and obstacles. The theory of neoliberalism became the theoretical basis for reviewing the negotiations conducted by the two countries. This research was conducted using qualitative approach and historical method. The data collection was conducted with a library study and online research. The results of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership negotiations are that it has been through 12 stages of negotiations and took 10 years. In every negotiation process there will always be challenges and obstacles. In addition, the political dynamics that occur in the middle of the negotiation process make the negotiation process more interesting. However, in the end, the two countries managed to overcome various challenges and obstacles and find a point of balance for both sides in this agreement. So that the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership can be held in March 2019.
