Abstract

Setiap media massa memiliki bingkai yang digunakan dalam memberitakan suatu peristiwa, karena media tidak terlepas dari bias-bias yang berkaitan dengan ideologi, politik, ekonomi, sosial, budaya, dan agama. Pembingkaian suatu peristiwa oleh media massa dapat dilihat pada pemberitaan pagelaran Miss World 2013 yang menimbulkan pro dan kontra. Peristiwa ini dibingkai dalam dua media massa online yaitu Suarapembaruan.com dan Republika.co.id. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan ilustrasi bahwa pemberitaan pagelaran Miss World 2013 telah melalui proses konstruksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis framing. Konsep-konsep jurnalistik dan beberapa teori komunikasi juga digunakan sebagai referensi untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian kedua media ini menunjukan bingkai yang berbeda dalam pemberitaannya mengenai pagelaran Miss World 2013. Hal ini terlihat jelas pada saat menguraikan berita dari kedua media tersebut kedalam empat struktur dalam framing Pan dan Kosiski yaitu struktur sintaksis, struktur skrip, struktur tematik dan struktur retoris. Ini memberikan gambaran bahwa berita adalah hasil konstruksi atas realitas dengan bahasa sebagai perangkat dasarnya. Berita bukan hanya mepresentasikan realitas, tetapi lebih dari itu berita menentukan tendensi ideologi yang ingin diperlihatkan oleh kedua media massa dari perbedaan sudut pandang, nara sumber yang dipilih dan isi berita. / Every mass media has a frame which use to inform an event, because the media can not be separated from the biases associated with ideological, political, economic, social, cultural, and religious. Framing an event by mass media could be seen in the news coverage of the whole Miss World 2013 which incurred pro and contra. This event was framed in news portal suarapembaruan.com and republika.co.id. The research aims to provide an illustration that the news coverage of of the whole Miss World 2013 has been through a process of construction. Research Method that has been used is framing analysis. Journalistic concepts and communication theory are also used as a reference for analyzing the data. the research result showed a different frames from both media in presenting Miss World 2013. This is clearly seen when describing each news into four structures of framing analysis by Pan and Kosicki, which are syntactic structure , script structure , thematic structure and rhetorical structure. This provide an idea that news is the result of construction of reality with language as its basic equipment. News is not just presenting reality, but more than that, news determines what the tendency of the ideology that want to be shown by both the mass media from different viewpoints , selected resource and news content.
