Abstract

Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti pada kelas XI IPS SMAK-ABC di Jambi, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa belum menunjukkan keaktifan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Hal tersebut memiliki kaitan erat dengan metode yang cenderung sering digunakan oleh guru, yaitu dengan metode ceramah. Akibatnya siswa bukan menjadi pusat pembelajaran, sehingga justru guru yang lebih aktif. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti perlu untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Dalam melakukan usaha tersebut peneliti menerapkan metode Grup Investigasi untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian, yaitu meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian berlangsung selama dua siklus, dari tanggal 11 Oktober 2013 hingga 25 Oktober 2013. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS pada SMAK-ABC di Jambi. Untuk mendapatkan informasi yang tepat, peneliti menggunakan instrumen antara lain, angket siswa, check list mentor, dan wawancara mentor. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif sederhana. Validasi data dilakukan oleh guru mentor yang juga selaku guru bidang mata Pelajaran Ekonomi. Berdasarkan hasil dari instrumen yang telah digunakan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Grup Investigasi dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XI IPS pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi. / Based on the observations done in grade XI IPS SMAK - ABC Jambi, researcher found that the students didn’t seem to be active in their learning. It is closely related to a method often used by the teachers, which is lecturing method. As a result, it’s not the students who were the center of learning, but the teachers who were more active. Therefore, researcher needs to improve the students’ learning activeness. In order to do this, the researcher applied the Group Investigation method to achieve the research objective, which is to improve the students’ learning activeness. The research method used by researcher was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research lasted for two cycles, from October 11th, 2013 until October 25th, 2013. The research subjects were students of class XI IPS at SMAK-ABC Jambi. To get the exact information, the researcher used some instruments, such as; students’ questionnaire, check list of mentor, and mentor interview. The collected data was analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. Data validation was done by the teacher as well as mentor teacher on Economic Subject. Based on the instruments that has been used, the conclusion is Group Investigation can improve students learning activeness in grade XI IPS on Economic subject.
