Abstract

Berdasarkan pengamatan yang telah dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap kelas XI IPS di salah satu sekolah swasta yang ada di daerah Jogjakarta, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa kurang memiliki pemahaman konseptual laporan keuangan dan cenderung memiliki sikap individual dalam melakukan pembelajaran. Hal ini karena guru seringkali menggunakan metode ceramah dalam pembelajaran akuntansi di kelas. Akibatnya siswa tidak dapat terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran dan memiliki pemahaman konseptual laporan keuangan yang kurang. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti perlu mengatasi masalah ini dengan menerapkan metode Student Teams Achievement Divisions sehingga pemahaman konsep siswa dalam materi laporan keuangan dapat mengalami peningkatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS yang terdiri dari 31 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12 Oktober – 26 Oktober 2013 dengan berlangsungnya dua siklus. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan antara lain lembar lesson plan, lembar umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi mentor, lembar observasi teman sejawat, lembar hasil kuis, lembar wawancara mentor, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik display data, analisis secara statistik deskriptif sederhana dan kualitatif atau narasi. Validasi data dilakukan oleh mentor selaku guru mata pelajaran Akuntansi kelas XI. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Student Teams Achievement Divisions dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dalam materi laporan keuangan pada siswa kelas XI IPS. Selain itu, penerapan metode Student Teams Achievement Divisions dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi laporan keuangan kelas XI IPS telah berhasil dilakukan. / Based on the observations that had been done by the researcher when teaching grade XI social students at a private school in Jogjakarta, researcher found that students were lack of conceptual understanding in learning financial report and tend to be individualistic during the learning process. It was because the researcher often used lecturer method in accounting lesson in the class. Therefore the student could not actively engage in the learning process and were lack of conceptual understanding in learning financial report. Because of that, researcher needed to solve this problem by implementing Student Teams Achievement Divisions method so that student’s conceptual understanding in learning financial accounting could be increased. The research method used in this research was classroom action research. The research subject was grade XI social students which were consisted of 31 students. This research was conducted on October 12th, 2014- October 26th, 2014 for two cycles. The instruments used in this research were lesson plan, mentor’s feedback sheet, mentor’s observation sheet, fellow teacher’s observation sheet, quiz result sheet, mentor’s interview sheet, and researcher’s reflection journal. Data collected were analyzed using display data method, simple descriptive statistic analytical method. Data validation was done by mentor as grade XI accounting subject teacher. Based on the result of this research, then could be concluded that Student Teams Achievement Divisions method could increase conceptual understanding in learning financial report for grade XI social students. Moreover, the implementation of Student Teams Achievement Divisions method to increase student’s conceptual understanding in learning financial report was done successfully.
