Abstract

Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan, peneliti menemukan masalah dalam pembelajaran yaitu kurangnya keaktifan belajar siswa mata pelajaran Ekonomi di sebuah sekolah swasta kelas XI IPS kota Semarang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya tindakan siswa yang tidak aktif mengikuti pembelajaran yang telah diterapkan oleh guru. Oleh karena masalah ini, peneliti meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dengan menerapkan metode Think Pair Share sehingga dapat berdampak pada pembelajaran siswa selanjutnya Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Dengan PTK, peneliti melakukan penelitian terhadap XI IPS berjumlah 18 siswa, dalam mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua kali siklus dari tanggal 23 September-04 November 2013. Insrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar wawancara mentor di tahap pra-siklus, lesson plan mengajar, refleksi peneliti, lembar observasi mentor, dan lembar angket siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan peneliti adalah stastistik sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas XI IPS mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Dari siklus I ke siklus II terjadi peningkatan semua indikator keaktifan yaitu mendengarkan, bertanya, menjawab, berdiskusi, dan mengungkapkan pendapat. Instruksi dalam melakukan metode Think Pair Share, diperkuat dengan power point. / Based on observations that were conducted by the researcher in a private school grade XI IPS in Semarang, the researcher decided that the main problem that had happened in the class was the lack of students’ active learning in economics. It was proved by the lack of students’ activeness during the teaching that the mentor had implemented. Therefore, the researcher decided to implement Think Pair Share method to increase students’ active learning for the future impact. The research method that was used was Classroom Action Research (CAR). With CAR, the researcher conducted the research to 18 students of XI IPS in Economics. The research was conducted in two cycles from September 23rd – November 4th 2013. The instruments that were used were mentor’s interview sheet in pre cycle, lesson plans, researcher’s reflections, mentor’s observation sheets, and students’ questionnaires. The data were analyzed using simple statistic technique. Based on the research, the implementation of Think Pair Share method increases grade XI IPS students’ active learning in Economics. From cycle I to cycle II there was an increase in all the indicators of student’s active learning which are listening, questioning, answering, discussing and giving opinions.
