Abstract

Pemahaman konsep memegang peranan penting dalam mengembangkan intelektual yang telah diberikan Tuhan. Kenyataan yang ditemukan dalam sebuah kelas yang diajar oleh peneliti menunjukkan bahwa para siswa memiliki masalah dalam pemahaman konsep. Solusi atas permasalahan tersebut harus segera ditemukan. Peneliti berusaha menemukan sebuah metode yang baru bagi siswa dan menarik sehingga konsep pelajaran mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Metode jigsaw menjadi sebuah solusi yang diterapkan oleh peneliti untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan untuk menjelaskan penerapan metode jigsaw dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XI IPS dalam topik APBN/APBD. Peneliti menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dalam melaksanakan penelitian di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta di Kota Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus. Data-data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini diolah berdasarkan analisis statistik deskriptif sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode jigsaw dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dalam topik APBN/APBD pada siswa kelas XI IPS. Kesimpulan ini didukung oleh semua hasil instrumen penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti telah menunjukkan hasil penelitian yang sama yaitu adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep yang diukur dari siswa mampu menjelaskan, membedakan dan memberi contoh dari konsep yang telah dipelajari. / Concept understanding holds a significant role in developing intellectual that given by God. Reality was found by the researcher in a class that students had problem in understanding the concept. A solution for overcoming the problem must be found. The researcher set out to discover a new method for students and exciting so the concept lesson easily understood by students. Jigsaw method is a solution that implemented by the researcher in the classroom to improve student understanding. This research was conducted in order to determine and to explain the implementation of jigsaw method can improve the understanding of XI social students in APBN/APBD topic. The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) method in conducting the research in one of the private high school in Kupang City, Southeast Indonesia. The research consisted of two cycles. Data obtained in this research were processed based on a simple descriptive statistical analysis. The research result showed that the implementation of the jigsaw method can improve the students’ understanding of APBN/APBD concept in grade XI social. The conclusion was supported by all the results of instrument that used by the researcher showed the same results that students’ understanding improved that measured from students were able to explain, differentiate and give examples of the concepts that have been studied.
