Abstract

Hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti pada kelas XB SMA XYZ Semarang menunjukkan bahwa siswa kurang terlibat dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Oleh karena itu untuk mengatasi masalah yang ditemukan, peneliti menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa di dalam kelas. Selain itu peneliti juga ingin mengetahui cara penerapan TGT dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa di dalam kelas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti ialah Metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Proses penelitian dilakukan dari 29 Oktober sampai dengan 10 November Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi guru mentor, lembar angket siswa, lembar wawancara guru mentor, lembar wawancara siswa dan lembar refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa penerapan TGT melalui pelaksanaan langkah-langkahnya secara maksimal dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa selama pembelajaran. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilihat dari tercapainya seluruh indikator keterlibatan siswa di kelas tersebut. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT merupakan metode yang tepat untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa di kelas. / The study conducted on grade XB students at XYZ High School in Semarang showed that students in that class were less engaged during the economics learning. To solve the problem, researcher implemented Team Games Tournament (TGT) in order to increase students engagement in the class. It is also studied the right way to implement TGT so that student engagement in the class can be improved. The research method that was used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) model Kemmis and Taggart with two cycles. Research was conducted from October 29th 2015 to November 10th 2015. The research instruments used to obtain the data were observation sheet, mentor teacher interview sheet, student questionnaire sheet, student interview sheet and reflection journal. Based on the observation result, it is concluded that implementation of TGT could improve the students engagement in the class. The improvement can be observed through the increase of percentage achievement indicators of students engagement in the class. Therefore, it can be concluded that TGT (Team Games Tournament) is the right method that can be used to increase students engagement in the class.
