Abstract

Kualitas gambar dan suara televisi analog yang diterima sangat tergantung pada antena. Seringkali pada arah orientasi antena tertentu beberapa kanal siaran dapat diterima dengan baik namun untuk kanal-kanal lainnya kualitasnya sangat buruk. Meskipun diupayakan dengan mengubah orientasi sebuah antena tunggal seoptimal mungkin, peluang untuk memperoleh kualitas gambar yang sama baiknya untuk semua kanal TV yang tersedia sangatlah kecil. Salah satu solusinya adalah dengan menggunakan beberapa antena dengan teknik penggabungan tertentu. Untuk dapat melakukan hal itu, terlebih dahulu diperlukan kemampuan untuk mendeteksi kualitas gambar dan suara yang dihasilkan masing-masing antena. Setelah menganalisis beberapa metode pendeteksian, dalam penelitian ini penentuan kualitas gambar dan suara yang terbaik dilakukan dengan mendeteksi dan menganalisis bentuk sinyal pada keluaran Penguat Frekuensi Menengah {Intermediate Frequency Amplifier-IFA). Dari hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa kualitas yang baik diperoleh bila frekuensi pusat pada keluaran IF dengan frekuensi rata-rata 38.00 MHz dengan SNR lebih besar dari 15 dB. Sedangkan pada gambar berbayang (ghosting) keluaran IF-nya akan menyimpang sampai sejauh 30% dari 38 MHz. Untuk kualitas gambar bintik-bintik (noisy) pada keluaran pada IF memiliki SNR lebih kecil dari 10 dB Analisis hasil keluaran IFA tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menjamin kualitas gambar yang sama baiknya dari kanal-kanal TV yang tersedia dengan menggunakan teknik penggabungan beberapa antena. / The audio and video received signal quality in analog television is strongly depending upon the receiver antenna orientation. "Very often for a certain single received antenna s orientation the quality of some transmitted stations is very good while for other stations the quality is bad. Although attempts are made to adjust the antenna orientation, the probability of obtaining the same quality for all television stations received signal is very low. One of the solutions is to combine several antenna with different orientations using antenna combiner techniques. Prior to do that, an ability to detect the best received signal quality of the whole antenna’s orientation is required. After an analysis of several detection methods, the best way to define the received signal quality is by analyzing signal at the output of the IFA. From the analysis, it is found that the best signal quality is obtained when the center frequency at the output of IFA is around 38 MHz with an SNR at more than 15 dB. While when ghosting pictures appear on television screen, the center frequency at IFA output can deviate up to 30%. The SNR decreases to less than 10 dB at the IFA output when noisy picture appears on the television screen. The signal analysis at the IFA output is used to ensure the picture with the same signal quality received from all available television stations using an antenna combiner technique.
