Abstract

Setiap proyek investasi memerlukan Capital Budgeting (penganggaran modal) untuk memperkirakan seberapa besar investasi tersebut menghasilkan keuntungan bagi perusahaan dan dalam waktu berapa lama. Hasil analisis tersebut yang akan dipakai dalam menentukan apakah suatu proyek dapat diterima atau ditolak. Laporan magang ini berdasarkan kegiatan magang yang dilakukan selama empat bulan dimulai dari 18 Juli sampai dengan 18 November 2011 di PT First Media Tbk., perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa Megamedia dengan empat bisnis utamanya yaitu cable TV dengan merek dagang HomeCable, broadband internet dengan merek dagang FastNet, internet nirkabel dengan merek dagang Sitra WiMax, dan data communication services dengan merek dagang DataComm. Penulis ditempatkan di bagian keuangan dengan kegiatan menganalisis cashflow projection proyek Homepass dimana kegiatan tersebut merupakan kegiatan utama di dalam Capital Budgeting. Proyek Homepass itu sendiri adalah proyek penambahan jaringan kabel serat optik yang dipakai PT First Media Tbk dalam melayani pelanggan di dua dari empat bisnis utamanya, yaitu layanan HomeCable dan FastNet. Kabel tersebut menjadi akses yang dapat menghubungkan kedua produk itu ke rumah-rumah. / Each investment project requires a Capital Budgeting to estimate how much the investment costs will generate profits for the company and within how long. The results are to be used in determining whether a project can be accepted or rejected. This report is based on the internship activity that was conducted during four months starting from July 18th to November 18th References: 15 (1990:2011) 2011 at PT First Media Tbk. This company engaged in the Megamedia service sector with its four main businesses, which are cable TV with a brand of HomeCable, broadband internet with a brand of FastNet, wireless internet with a brand of Sitra WiMax, and data communication services with a brand of DataComm. The author was placed in the finance division with an activity of analyzing the cash flow projection of Homepass project, which is the main activity in Capital Budgeting. Homepass project itself is an addition of fiber optic cables network that are used by PT First Media Tbk in serving the customers in its two out of four main businesses, namely HomeCable and Fastnet. That cables network is the access to connect the two products into the customer’s houses.
