Abstract

Broken home sudah bukan lagi sebuah keadaan yang tabu di dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Sudah banyak sekali keluarga yang saat ini berada di dalam keadaan broken home. Keadaan broken home ini juga kemudian berdampak kepada keadaan yang kurang harmonis dan interaksi yang kurang antara orang tua dan anak. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini agar peneliti dapat mengetahui bagaimana anakanak dalam keluarga broken home dapat menyampaikan pesan yang mereka inginkan kepada orang tua mereka dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan mendapatkan quality of life yang mereka usaha dapatkan. Terdapat 4 subyek di dalam penelitian ini dan seluruhnya merupakan mahasiswa/i dari Universitas Pelita Harapan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa karena renggangnya hubungan antara orang tua dan anak. Dan berakhir bagaimana orang tua dan anak kemudian menjadi strangers akibat kurangnya komunikasi antara orang tua dan anak, serta perasaan kecewa dari anak terhadap orang tua. Saran bagi pembaca penelitian adalah agar dapat terus menghargai interaksi dengan orang tua dan terus membina komunikasi di dalam keluarga meskipun di dalam lingkup broken home. / Broken home is something that is common nowadays. Children who are in this situation then be an introvert children and ultimately feel do not belong in society. This situation makes the child then be the individuals who have a poor relationship with his family. This research is conducted to find out how children in a broken home situation can convey the message that they want to their parents in everyday life and get a quality of life that they need in their life. There are 4 subjects in this study and all of a students are studying in University of Pelita Harapan. The results of this study stated that because the loosening of the relationship between parent and child leads to parents and children became strangers due to a lack of communication between parents and children. As well as feelings of disappointment from children to their parents. Advice for readers of this research is to be able to continue to appreciate the interaction with parents and continue to foster communication within the family although within the scope of a broken home.
