Abstract

Diplomasi budaya adalah salah satu kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh negara untuk memperkenalkan negara ke dunia internasional dan hal ini dianggap menjadi satu-satunya solusi yang efektif. Dalam hal ini, Indonesia menganggap penting diplomasi budaya. Salah satu, diplomasi budaya yang dilakukan oleh Indonesia adalah dengan keikutsertaan Indonesia menjadi penyelenggara pemilihan Miss World 2013 di Bali, Indonesia, dimana Indonesia menjadikan Miss World sebagai platform untuk berdiplomasi melalui keanekaragaman budaya dan keindahan alam dalam mempromosikan Indonesia ke Dunia Internasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pentingnya diplomasi budaya bagi Indonesia dan mengetahui cara Indonesia melakukan diplomasi budaya melalui Miss World 2013 di Bali. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori konstruktivisme dengan konsep diplomasi budaya, konsep nation branding, dan konsep civil society. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, metode studi sejarah, serta teknik studi kepustakaan untuk dapat menganalisis data yang telah diperoleh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pentingnya diplomasi budaya bagi Indonesia, dimana salah satu upaya diplomasi yang dilakukan oleh Indonesia adalah melalui pemilihan Miss World 2013 di Bali, Indonesia./ Cultural diplomacy is one of the activities carried out by the state to introduce the country to the international world and this is considered to be the only effective solution. In this regard, Indonesia attaches importance to cultural diplomacy. One of the cultural diplomacy carried out by Indonesia is Indonesia's participation in organizing the 2013 Miss World election in Bali, Indonesia, where Indonesia has made Miss World a platform for diplomacy through cultural diversity and natural beauty in promoting Indonesia to the International World. This research was conducted to determine the importance of cultural diplomacy for Indonesia and to find out how Indonesia conducts cultural diplomacy through Miss World 2013 in Bali. This research uses constructivism theory with the concept of cultural diplomacy, the concept of nation branding, and the concept of civil society. This research will use a qualitative approach, historical study methods, and literature study techniques to be able to analyze the data that has been obtained. The results of this study indicate that the importance of cultural diplomacy for Indonesia, where one of the diplomatic efforts made by Indonesia is through the election of Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.
