Abstract

Penggunaan kayu dalam dunia konstruksi terus mengalami peningkatan baik untuk pemakaian struktural maupun non struktural. Kebutuhan kayu yang sangat besar berdampak pada ketersediaan kayu yang semakin berkurang setiap tahunnya akibat eksploitasi yang dilakukan secara besar-besaran. Disisi lain, keberadaan bambu di Indonesia sangat banyak namun kurang begitu bermanfaat di mata masyarakat. Bambu yang bentuk awalnya bulat dapat diolah menjadi balok bambu seperti layaknya kayu sesuai dengan ukuran yang diinginkan dengan teknik laminasi. Teknik laminasi merupakan teknik penggabungan bahan dengan bantuan perekat, bahan – bahan berukuran kecil dapat direkatkan membentuk komponen dalam berbagai ukuran dan panjang. Penelitian pendahuluan dilakukan uji tarik bambu utuh untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik bambu kemudian dilakukan pembuatan spesimen benda uji kecil laminasi berupa uji kuat tarik tegak lurus serat dan kuat geser sejajar serat dan selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan benda uji balok laminasi mengikuti standar pengujian ASTM D 143-09. Benda uji balok laminasi dibuat dengan menggunakan sambungan miring. Dimensi balok berukuran panjang 760 mm, lebar 50 mm, dan tinggi 50 mm. Bambu yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Bambu Petung (Dendrocolamus sp) yang diperoleh dari Desa Baturaja, Palembang dengan menggunakan bahan perekat Urea Formaldehyde. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa teknik laminasi untuk spesimen benda uji kecil telah memenuhi, namun tidak demikian untuk balok laminasi. Pada balok didapat daerah kerusakan yang terjadi pada sambungan miring ujung – ujung yang digunakan / The use of wood in construction continues to experience increased for both structural and non-use of the structural. Wood needs a very large impact on the availability of wood is reduced annually as a result of exploitation carried out in a big way. On the other hand, the presence of bamboo in Indonesia very much less useful, however, so in the eyes of the community. Bamboo shape first round can be processed into bamboo wooden beams as well as according to the desired size with lamination techniques. Lamination technique is the technique of merging the material with the help of an adhesive, raw small-sized materials can be bonded under form components in some different sizes and lengths. Preliminary research of bamboo pull-test to find out the full mechanical properties of bamboo and then committed the making a test specimen of small objects is a powerful test pull laminate perpendicular fiber and strong shear parallel fibers and subsequently made the manufacture of laminate beam test items follow standards testing ASTM D 143-09. Laminate beam test objects created by using scarf connection. Dimensions of beam length 760 mm, width 50 mm, and height of 50 mm. Bamboo was used in the research is Petung Bamboo (Dendrocolamus sp) gained from the village of Baturaja, Palembang and using the Urea Formaldehyde adhesive. Test results showed that laminate techniques for small test specimens have filled the objects, but not so for laminate beam. On the beam obtainable the area of damage that occurs in scarf connection which are used .
