Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari profitabilitas serta struktur modal terhadap kebijakan dividen. Variabel dependen dalam penelitian ini ialah kebijakan dividen dengan proksi dividend payout ratio. Profitabilitas yang diproksikan dengan Return on Asset, dan struktur modal dengan proksi Debt to Equity Ratio menjadi perwakilan atas variabel independen. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang didapatkan melalui S&P Capital platform, yang berfokus pada perusahaan pada sektor healthcare dan/atau materials pada Bursa Efek Indonesia selama periode 2017 hingga 2019. Sampel yang diambil menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dimana jumlah sampel yang diperoleh adalah sebanyak 115 perusahaan. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis regresi berganda. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa (1) profitabilitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kebijakan dividen, dan (2) struktur modal berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap kebijakan dividen. / This study is done with the aims to determine the effects of profitability and leverage on dividend policy. The dependent variable in this study is dividend policy, proxied by dividend payout ratio. Profitability is proxied by Return on Asset, and leverage is proxied by Debt-to-Equity Ratio to represent independent variables. This study uses secondary data obtained from S&P Capital platform, focused on firms in the healthcare and/or materials industry in the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the period of 2017 until 2019. Samples are taken using purposive sampling method, where the total samples obtained are 115 firms. Data processed by using multiple linear regression analysis technique. The results of this study prove that (1) profitability positively and significantly affect dividend policy, and (2) leverage negatively and significantly affect dividend policy.
