Abstract

Tugas akhir ini membahas mengenai pengembangan aplikasi untuk mendeteksi kemampuan anak usia dini dalam empat aspek yaitu visual, math, memori, dan logika. Aplikasi ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk membantu orang tua mendeteksi dini kemampuan dari anak. Dengan mengetahui kemampuan optimal pada anak, maka orang tua dapat membantu untuk meningkatkan potensi yang dimiliki oleh anak dengan cara yang sesuai. Pengembangan aplikasi ini menggunakan metode spiral. Metode dimulai dari pengumpulan requirements, analisa sistem yang akan dikembangkan, desain, dan terakhir implementasi. Proses ini akan diulang beberapa kali hingga aplikasi memenuhi requirements yang telah ditentukan pada tahap awal. Aplikasi dibangun dengan menggunakan Eclipse Juno 4.2.2, dengan plugin IBM Worklight. Adapun tahap-tahap dari metodologi yang dilakukan sebelum mengimplementasikan aplikasi yaitu desain interface, desain level, dan penentuan soal yang sesuai untuk anak berusia dua hingga enam tahun. Setelah itu, aplikasi diimplementasikan sesuai dengan hasil desain tahap sebelumnya. Pengujian aplikasi dilakukan dengan mengikuti teknik pengujian dari buku “Game Development Essentials” menurut Luis Levy. Terdapat enam teknik pengujian yaitu balance testing, compatibility testing, compliance testing, localization testing, play testing, dan usability testing. Teknik pengujian diterapkan pada saat uji sampling sehingga mendapatkan hasil yang lebih akurat. Aplikasi ini telah memenuhi requirements yang telah ditentukan pada tahap pertama dari metode spiral. Saran untuk pengembangan selanjutnya adalah penambahan soal pada setiap level dengan tingkat kesulitan yang lebih tinggi, pengembangan untuk platform mobile lain, dan penambahan fitur save to gallery pada sertifikat. / This thesis discusses the development of application used to detect childrens’ excellence which covers four aspects of visual, math, memory, and logic. The purpose of this application is to help parents determine their childrens’ aptitude. By understanding their childrens’ aptitude, the parents can help them boost their ability in an appropriate and suitable way. The application is developed using spiral methodology, starting from gathering the requirements, analyze the proposed application, design, and implementation. The process is repeated until all requirements have been fulfilled. The software used to build this application is Eclipse Juno 4.2.2, with IBM Worklight plugin. Before implementation, there are several steps that need to be completed such as interface design, level design, and choosing appropriate questions for the niche. After all the design cycle finished, the implementation begins. Based on Luis Levy’s book of Game Development Essentials, there are six techniques of game testing namely balance testing, compatibility testing, compliance testing, localization testing, play testing, and usability testing. The techniques are implemented during the sampling testing to get a more accurate result. This application has met all the requirements that have been determined on the first phase of spiral methodology. There are three suggestions for further development which are to increase the levels’ question by quantity and difficulty level, developing the app for other mobile platforms, and additional save to gallery feature for the result certificate.
