Abstract

Hidup manusia saat ini banyak bergantung pada teknologi. Teknologi digunakan dalam seluruh aspek kehidupan manusia, salah satunya dalam bidang perindustrian. Contohnya adalah penggunaan teknologi untuk memproses informasi dari data yang tersedia. PT Vesinter Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur dan assembly kapal dan terletak di Kota Batam. Untuk mengefektifkan proses bisnisnya, perusahaan ini memerlukan sistem informasi yang dapat digunakan oleh departemen logistik, departemen purchasing, dan departemen finance untuk melihat detail transaksi pemesanan bahan baku, memantau perkembangan status pesanan bahan baku, maupun mengingatkan pengguna akan tugas masing-masing departemen yang berkaitan dengan pengadaan bahan baku. Perancangan sistem dibuat sesuai dengan tahapan dalam System Development Life Cycle atau SDLC, yaitu proses pemahaman bagaimana sebuah sistem informasi bisa mendukung kebutuhan bisnis. SDLC teriri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, analisis, desain, dan implementasi. Berdasarkan penilaian pengguna yang telah mengoperasikan dan menilai sistem, terdapat 6 pernyataan yang menggambarkan sistem informasi sangat efektif, 20 pernyataan yang menggambarkan sistem informasi efektif, 3 pernyataan yang menggambarkan sistem informasi cukup efektif, dan 1 pernyataan yang menggambarkan sistem informasi tidak efektif. Pernyataan yang menggambarkan sistem informasi tidak efektif adalah pernyataan sistem informasi dapat mendorong manajemen untuk mengambil tindakan yang diperlukan. Sehingga disarankan untuk melibatkan pihak manajemen sebagai salah satu pengguna sistem informasi agar pihak manajemen bisa memantau keadaan sebenarnya dari proses bisnis pengadaan bahan baku dan melakukan tindakan yang diperlukan. Secara keseluruhan bisa disimpulkan bahwa sistem informasi yang dirancang efektif apabila digunakan untuk menjalankan proses bisnis pengadaan bahan baku di perusahaan dengan persentase efektivitas sebesar 74,67%. / Human’s life nowadays depends a lot on technology. Technology can be used in various aspect of human’s life, one of them is in the industrial sector. For example, technology can be used to process information from available data. PT Vesinter Indonesia is a company that build and assembly ships in Batam City. To effectively run the business process, this company needs an information system that enables logistic, purchasing, and finance department to see raw material transaction details, monitor raw material purchase progress, and remind each department on their departments’ job related to raw material provision. Information system design is made based on the stages in System Development Life Cycle or SDLC which is the process of understanding how information system can support business process. SDLC consists of planning, analysis, design, and implementation. Based on users’ rating, there are 6 statements that describe that the information system is very effective, 20 statements that describe that the information system is effective, 3 statements that describe that the information system is quite effective, and 1 statement that describes that the information system is not effective. The statement that describes that the information system is not effective is the information system encourage management to act if needed. So for further develop the information it is recommended to set management as one of the information system’s user so that the management of the company can monitor the raw material provision process in real time and take action if needed. Overall, it can be concluded that the information system designed is effective to be used in running the company’s raw material provision business process with effectivity percentage 74,67%.
