Abstract

Tugas akhir ini menjelaskan tentang analisa masalah pada proses enrollment dan rancangan sistem usulan berupa monitoring tools. Enrollment merupakan proses krusial dalam satu cycle akademik. Secara historis, proses enrollment tidak selalu berjalan lancar, permasalahan rentan muncul pada proses ini dimana mahasiwa tidak bisa mengikuti proses enrollment. Seluruh mahasiswa wajib mengikuti proses enrollment untuk kelanjutan studi pada semester berikutnya. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang muncul pada proses enrollment, maka dilakukanlah analisa dan diusulkan aplikasi berupa monitoring tools untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini. Metode analisa menggunakan OOAD, yaitu dengan mempelajari permasalahan yang terjadi dan menentukan solusi atau rancangan berdasarkan kebutuhan. Monitoring tools dibuat dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Visual Basic. Untuk modeling, digunakan diagram UML seperti activity; use case dan class diagrams. Pengujian aplikasi meliputi scenario testing dan usability testing. Solusi yang ditawarkan berupa prototype Monitoring tools berfungsi untuk mencegah permasalahan terjadi pada saat proses enrollment. Monitoring tools digunakan sebelum proses enrollment untuk memeriksa persiapan dari Course Catalog, Class Scheduling dan Student Payment, sehingga proses enrollment dapat berjalan dengan lancar. Hasil dari tugas akhir ini adalah usulan berupa prototype Monitoring Tools, yang berfungsi untuk mengakomodasi munculnya permasalahan pada saat proses enrollment dan monitoring tools ini diharapkan juga membantu proses berjalannya enrollment. / This final project attempts to explain the analyzation of problem according to the enrollment process and also the designation of the proposed system in the form of monitoring tools. Enrollment is a crucial process in one academic cycle. Historically, enrollment process does not always run smoothly. Problems started emerging where students could not do the enrollment, whereas every student is required to enroll to continue their studies the next semester. To handle the problem that emerge during enrollment process, analyzation is done and an application is proposed in the form of Monitoring Tools to address this issue. OOAD method is used to study the problem and to determine a solution based on the needs. Monitoring Tools is made with Visual Basic programming tool. For modeling, UML diagram like activity, use case, and class diagrams, is used. The testing of the application includes scenario testing and usability testing. The solution that is offered is a prototype in the form of Monitoring Tools and is used to prevent problem from happening during the enrollment process. Monitoring Tools is used before the enrollment process to check the preparation of the course catalog, class scheduling and student payment, so that the enrollment process can run smoothly. A solution is resulted from this final project in the form of Monitoring Tools prototype that functions to accomodate the risk of emerging problems during the enrollment process and with this Monitoring Tools it is hope that it would help the enrollment process.
