Abstract

This thesis report explains the relationship between environmental locus of control and willingness to pay with the mediation of pro-environmental behaviour on IKEA environmentally friendly products. This research examines how people's environmental locus of control and pro-environmental behaviour affect their willingness to pay for environmentally friendly products. The population in this research is Pelita Harapan University active students from 2015-2017. The sample of 106 respondents are taken using Non-Probability Sampling technique of Purposive sampling method, with the criteria of respondents who have purchased IKEA products. The conceptual model is tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) This research finding shows that both environmental locus of control and pro-environmental behaviour positively affect willingness to pay more for environmentally friendly products. The mediation of pro-environmental behaviour is also found to positively affect the relationship between environmental locus of control on willingness to pay. Furthermore, this report provides some suggestions for IKEA to maintain their existing good strategies and to improve their strengths.
