Abstract

This research involves the development of an educational game which is used for an interactive learning experience for elementary school students especially in the topic solar system, food chain, and geography. This game is developed to help increase the educational knowledge of elementary school students. From so many topics that could have been chosen for this game, solar system, food chain, and geography are the selected topics. The reason is that these three topics are important but rarely seen on educational games. This game is developed using the framework of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with Adaptive Software Development (ASD) as the methodology. This game is constructed using Unity Game Engine 4.6 and written with C#. This game has satisfied all of the functional requirements including figure showing, game level displayed in a correct sequence, etc. This game also fulfill all non-functional requirements. For instance, operational, performance, and usability. Nonetheless, this game doesn’t pass the significance testing. Meaning that players who play this game will have no meaningful effect in deeper knowledge compared to those who choose to study an article. One of the assumptions for this result is that the discussed topics might be too easy in terms of difficulty, hence there was not much difference found compared to those who study from an article. On the other hand, the conducted survey deduce that the majority of students prefer to study via game and those who played tend to focus more than those who study via article.
