Abstract

To increase the customer that using cellular telecommunication which base on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) technology, an operator has to improve or to broaden the coverage area to reach out numbers of customers. To broaden the coverage area, new transceiver as called BTS (Base Transceiver Subsystem) are needed. Few things have to be done before the construction of BTS can be start, such as: 1. Plans which area that potential enough and easy to maintain for new BTS site. 2. Calculate financially the availability of the budget for numbers of new BTS. 3. Negotiate the land for the BTS. After those three things above have been done, the construction can be start from construct the tower, shipment equipment, install antenna, feeder, etc, next ATP has been done before that BTS on service to serve the customer. / Untuk menambah pelanggan pengguna telekomunikasi seluler yang berbasis teknologi GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) operator harus memperluas coverage ataupun melakukan improvement agar dapat mencapai target jumlah pelanggan. Untuk memperluas coverage ini dibutuhkan pemancarpemancar baru yang disebut BTS (Base Transceiver Subsystem). Beberapa hal yang harus dilakukan sebelum proyek pembuatan BTS ini dapat dijalankari, yaitu: 1. Perencanaan daerah-daerah mana saja yang cukup potensial dan mudah untuk dilakukan pemeliharaan untuk dibangun BTS. 2. Perhitungan secara finansial apakah budget yarg tersedia sesuai dengan banyak BTS yang diinginkan. 3. Melakukan penawaran atas tanah yang akan dibangun BTS. Setelah ketiga hal diatas sudah dilaksanakan maka proyek akan mulai dari pembuatan tower, pengiriman barang, instalasi pelengkapan seperti antenna, feeder dll, kemudian dilakukan ATP sebelum BTS tersebut on service untuk melayani pelanggan.
