Abstract

Indonesia consists of 33 provinces and diseases are very common. These diseases can be categorized into two things, namely non-infectious diseases and infectious diseases. Majority of people in Indonesia still believe in traditional medicine over formal medicine. The data used in this study are from Basic Health Research data in 2007 and 2013, which consists of factors that cause disease (8), non-communicable diseases (7), infectious diseases (5), conventional medicine (6), and alternative medicine (4). The causative factors used are the use of clean water per person per day in liters, use of defecation facilities, population density, smoking behavior, physical activity behavior, hygienic behavior, fruit and vegetable consumption behavior, and clean and healthy living behavior. The non-communicable diseases used were joints, hypertension, stroke, asthma, diabetes mellitus, mental and emotional. And the infectious diseases used were pneumonia, ARI, hepatitis, diarrhea and malaria. The conventional treatment factors used are government hospitals, private hospitals, health centers, health workers, at home, and not inpatient. The alternative medicine factor used was traditional herb health services, with tools, without tools, and thoughts. This study aims to find the level of correlation between causative and treatment factors toward the diseases. To find the correlation, Pearson Correlation Method is used to conduct the study. Based on the Pearson Correlation results, the variables that have a strong and weak relationship are mostly at low and medium correlation levels.
