Abstract

Pulau Jawa merupakan pulau dengan perpindahan penduduk terbesar karena banyak penduduk yang bermigrasi ke sana karena tuntutan pendidikan maupun pekerjaan. Hal ini membuat fenomena long-distance relationship mungkin untuk terjadi dan relevan di Pulau Jawa. Long-distance relationship merupakan hubungan intim antara dua individu yang secara geografis tidak memungkinkan adanya kedekatan fisik untuk periode waktu tertentu. Hal ini membuat komitmen menjadi penting dan genting karena dengan adanya keterbatasan kontak fisik dapat mengakibatkan individu semakin sulit mempercayai dan mempertahankan hubungannya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi komitmen adalah attachment individu terhadap pasangannya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh attachment terhadap komitmen. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah emerging adulthood yang sedang menjalin long-distance relationship sebanyak 109 partisipan. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah The Investment Model Scale yang terdiri dari 29 item dan Experiences in Close Relationship-Revised yang terdiri dari 31 item. Uji korelasi yang dilakukan menggunakan Spearman’s Rho, yang kemudian dilanjutkan pada uji regresi dan ditemukan pengaruh yang signifikan dari dimensi attachment-related avoidance terhadap komitmen. Namun, tidak ditemukan pengaruh yang signifikan dari dimensi attachment-related anxiety terhadap komitmen./Java Island is the island with the largest population migration because many people migrate there due to demands for education and work. This makes the phenomenon of long-distance relationship might happen and relevant in Java Island. Long-distance relationship is an intimate relationship between two individuals which geographically there is no physical closeness for a certain period of time. This makes commitment more important and crucial because of limited physical contact can make it more difficult for individual to trust and maintain relationship. One of the factors that influence commitment is an individual’s attachment to his partner. Therefore, this study aims to see whether there is an effect of attachment dimension to commitment. The participants in this study are 109 emerging adulthoods who are in long-distance relationship. Measuring instruments used in this study are The Investment Model Scale consisting of 31 items and Experiences in Close Relationship-Revised consisting of 29 items. Correlation method in this study using Spearman’s-Rho, continued to the regression test and founded that attachment-related avoidance significantly influecing commitment. However, there was no significant effect of attachment-related anxiety to commitment.
