Abstract

Adanya pandemi COVID-19 mengharuskan seluruh peserta didik untuk belajar dari jarak jauh yang biasa disebut dengan PJJ. Banyak tantangan yang harus dihadapi oleh mahasiswa karena adanya PJJ ini yang menyebabkan mereka menjadi stres. Stres yang terjadi di lingkungan pendidikan disebut dengan stres akademik yang merupakan gabungan dari tuntutan akademik yang melebihi kemampuan adaptif individu. Stres akademik yang terjadi di kalangan mahasiswa beasiswa pada PJJ ini dipicu oleh banyaknya tantangan dari belajar di rumah dan tanggung jawab beasiswa yang tetap berlaku. Disisi lain, kepribadian ketangguhan dapat membuat individu menjadi lebih tangguh, kuat, dan tahan dalam menghadapi sumber stres. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara ketangguhan dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa beasiswa UPH yang menjalani PJJ di masa pandemi COVID-19. Partisipan yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini adalah 191 mahasiswa beasiswa penuh di UPH yang sedang menjalani PJJ dan berusia 18 sampai 25 tahun. Penelitian dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan menggunakan alat ukur Skala Ketangguhan dan Skala Stres Akademik. Hasil hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara ketangguhan dengan stres akademik. Hubungan tersebut bersifat negatif signifikan dengan tingkat korelasi sebesar r= -.468. / The COVID-19 pandemic requires all students to learn from a distance which is commonly referred to as PJJ. There are many challenges that must be faced by students because of the existence of this PJJ which causes them to become stresed. The stres that occurs in the educational environment is called academic stress, which is a combination of academic demands that exceed the adaptive capacity of an individual. Academic stress that occurs among scholarship students at PJJ is triggered by the many challenges of studying at home and the ongoing scholarship responsibilities. On the other hand, a hardiness personality can make individuals tougher, stronger, and more resilient in dealing with sources of stress. Therefore, this study aims to see the relationship between hardiness and academic stress in UPH scholarship students who are undergoing PJJ during the COVID19 pandemic. Participants who were the subjects of this study were 191 full scholarship students at UPH who were undergoing PJJ and aged 18 to 25 years. The research was conducted quantitatively and using measuring instruments of the Hardiness Scale and Academic Stress Scale. The results of the hypothesis show that there is a significant relationship between hardiness and academic stress. This relationship is significant negative with a correlation level of r = -.468.
