Abstract

Pasar Anyar as the Traditional Market is one of the trade center is available for the city of Tangerang. Anyar market itself was built based on the needs of people who need a place to buy and sell more formal. Building brand-new market that is already filled with traders, can not accommodate all the needs of the city of Tangerang, therefore arise as time goes by traders who open shanties and tents around the market building. The stall trader makes brand-new market is divided into two sectors, formal and informal. Pasar Anyar sector formal which was originally a permanent resident in the form of stalls have spatial patterns that already exist and create patterns of activity that remains for the visitors. But when the informal sector began to be present at Pasar Anyar, namely traders sidewalk / traders stalls that sell on the shoulder of the main road, they make spatial patterns and activity patterns themselves. Then the overall layout Pasar Anyar change and make the imbalance in the function of the formal sector. Traders in the formal sector are no longer crowded because visitors prefer to shop in the informal sector that have more accessible. Spatial Anyar Market are reviewed based on the formal and informal sectors will be the main research of this thesis. To find success factors spatial formal and informal sectors in the Anyar market research is also needed on the standard spatial formal and informal sectors in a market, which includes the layout and spatial in both sectors. Methods that will be used to examine, namely by studying the literature on the theory of D.Dewar and Vanessa Watson of spatial formal and informal sectors in the traditional markets, precedent studies, and case studies using qualitative methods as a parameter testing of the success factors of spatial formal and informal sectors in Anyar Market. From the results of this study, the factors of failure spatial formal and informal sectors in the Anyar market, namely, factors layout where the location, the distance from the source of supply of merchandise, and accessibility affect the interest of visitors to come to a Anyar market, as well as the factors which the spatial arrangement commodity space and zone space merchandise affect the comfort of visitors to shop
