Abstract

The city is a form of life of citizens in performing activities of daily life. The development of a city defines the increasing needs of the citizens uses public facilities. But in fact not all urban design consider all segments of society. Village of Bojong Jaya one of urban design, which a part of city Tangerang is undergoing rapid urban development. Construction of high-rise buildings, and housing are forgetting the presence of middle and upper middle-down society, who lived not far from the location of the Cisadane river. Bojong Jaya village slum communities have a need for a social space, economy, and a healthy environment, which at this point they aren’t owned. Hence the need for facilities that are part of urban design that can accommodate all circles in the rapid development of the city of Tangerang. A mixed-use area of the city which has a facility housing and shopping complex functions that can be used and functioned by all segments of society. To achieve this, the design of mixed-use area will be through the process quality and quantitative methods observed in the context of Bojong Jaya village, and the case study method that will be the pattern search method of design thinking in rationalism as a consideration in the designing mixed-use building for urban village of Bojong Jaya. With the presence of a mixed-use in the design of a new city Bojong Jaya. It is thus a mixed-use design is the result of a conscious response to the needs of residential and commercial space on the main street of Imam Bonjol as well as the new urban design for all part society.
