Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi saat ini, perindustrian di Indonesia semakin meningkat. Kebanyakan industri menggunakan batubara sebagai bahan bakar, sehingga menghasilkan limbah yang salah satunya adalah fly ash. Fly ash batubara adalah limbah industri yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran batubara dan terdiri atas partikel yang sangat halus. Gradasi dan kehalusan fly ash batubara dapat memenuhi persyaratan gradasi AASHTO M17 untuk mineral filler. Fly ash sekarang ini banyak digunakan sebagai campuran beton, atau sebagai mineral filler dalam campuran aspal beton. Dalam penelitian ini, penggunaan fly ash sebagai mineral filler adalah untuk pengisi rongga dalam campuran, meningkatkan daya ikat aspal dan stabilitas aspal beton, yang kemudian dibandingkan dengan campuran aspal beton tanpa menggunakan fly ash. Di sini aspal yang digunakan adalah aspal Iran dan aspal Pertamina. Dari hasil penelitian, kadar optimum aspal yang didapat untuk aspal Iran adalah 5,2% dan aspal Pertamina adalah 5,3% dengan nilai Marshall Quotient untuk aspal Iran sebesar 177,225 kg/mm dan untuk aspal Pertamina sebesar 174,187 kg/mm. Dengan menggunakan kadar aspal Iran 5,2%, didapat kadar fly ash yang memiliki nilai Marshall Quotient tertinggi adalah 5% dengan nilai MQ sebesar 266,999 kg/mm, sedangkan dengan menggunakan kadar aspal Pertamina 5,3%, didapat kadar fly ash yang memiliki nilai Marshall Quotient tertinggi adalah 4,5% dengan nilai MQ sebesar 323,410 kg/mm. / In this globalization era, industries in Indonesia have been expanded. Most industries use fly ash as power fuel, which consequently produce pollutant waste named fly ash. Fly ash is industrial waste resulted from the burning process of coal and consisted of delicate particles. The gradation and delicateness of fly ash also fulfill gradation requirement AASHTO M17 for mineral filler. Nowadays, fly ash is mostly used as concrete mix, or as mineral filler in asphalt concrete mix. In this research, fly ash functions as mineral filler used to fill void in mixture, improve asphalt concrete stability and bonding power, for then to be compares with asphalt concrete mix without fly ash. In this case, asphalt which is being used is Iran Asphalt and Pertamina Asphalt. Based on the research, the optimum scale of Iran Asphalt is 5,2 % and Pertamina Asphalt is 5,3 % with Marshall Quotient value for Iran Asphalt 177,225 kg/mm and Pertamina Asphalt 174,187 kg/mm. By using Iran Asphalt 5,2%, fly ash scale resulting in the highest Marshall Quotient is 5% with MQ value 266,999 kg/mm. Whereas by using Pertamina Asphalt 5,3%, fly ash scale resulting in the highest Marshall Quotient is 4,5% with MQ value 322,410 kg/mm.
