Abstract

Saat ini banyak digunakan berbagai macam filler dalam perencanaan aspal beton yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kekuatan dari campuran aspal beton. Penambahan filler pada campuran aspal beton juga dapat mempengaruhi ketebalan dari lapisan aspal yang direncanakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku perkerasan lapisan aspal beton terhadap beban statik, serta menentukan tebal efektif dari lapisan pelat aspal pada beberapa variasi kadar filler aspal. Dalam penelitian ini, dipakai fly ash sebagai filler dalam campuran, agar dapat meningkatkan daya ikat aspal dan stabilitas aspal beton, kemudian dicari komposisi yang tepat untuk penambahan fly ash kedalam campuran aspal beton. Setelah kadar fly ash optimum didapat, selanjutnya ditentukan nilai CBR tanah berdasarkan uji lapangan dan uji laboratorium. Kemudian dilakukan percobaan terhadap pelat aspal beton menggunakan campuran fly ash optimum di atas tanah permukaan dan diberikan beban bertahap. Pada pengujian ini digunakan aspal jenis Retona. Dari hasil penelitian, didapat bahwa penggunaan fly ash sebagai filler dapat mencegah (retak) pada aspal beton dan dapat meningkatkan stabilitas pada campuran aspal beton, serta ketebalan lapisan pelat aspal dapat dibuat lebih tipis./ Currently many different types of filler used in asphalt concrete design aims to increase the strength of asphalt concrete mixture. The addition of filler in the asphalt concrete mix can also affect the thickness of the asphalt layer. The aim of this study is to know the behavior of asphalt concrete layer pavement against static load, and determine the effective thickness of asphalt layer at various content of asphalt filler. In this study, fly ash is used as filler in the asphalt mixture, to increase the stability and binding strength of asphalt concrete, and to know the exact percentage of fly ash added into the asphalt concrete mixture. After the optimum content of fly ash has been obtained, the CBR value is determined based on the field and laboratory testing. Conducted experiments on asphalt concrete plate using the optimum fly ash content over the base surface, and put the load on gradually. Asphalt used in this research is Retona. The results of this research is that using fly ash as a filler to prevent "crack" in the asphalt concrete can also increase the stability of the asphalt concrete mixture, and thickness of asphalt layer can be made thinner.
